Fender tag interior color on a 79

How to decode the tag (on radiator support) not like cars at all it seems. 1979 pickup

Not like a car at all...very true. Rad. support tag indicates the exterior paint code(s). T.O.N. truck order #. Equipment details on a'79 truck are on the underhood Equipment Label and the Warren Truck Building Order found in various hidden places in the cab and even in the trans. crossmember underneath the Truck. Obviously, by now on a '79 truck most of underhood equip. labels and the buildsheets are missing. The window sticker is another source of information if available.

I checked one of my build sheets, trim color is indicated on line 6 FWIW. In a regular cab seats, dash plastic,& door panels, is about it, the rest is body color or satin black.
Are you looking for the vinyl or painted surfaces colors?

Color of seats but I have no build sheet only the plate on radiator support and door jamb

Yes, dash is black, door panels, seat, carpet are tan. But all I’ve heard is Lil Reds only came with black or red interiors. If so someone went to a lot of trouble to change it out imo.

So your saying it is a Little Red Express truck.
If that is so then yes, they were only black and red.
If it is a LRE truck the interior or the cab apparently has been changed.

Chances are they left the original dash and changed the seats and carpet because they were junk.

The reason I want to be 100% sure before changing anything, factory did crazy things to sell a truck back then

My opinion...something like that on a LRE would be more likely to happen at the dealership but there is no way to know now without the paper documents. If you haven't already you might check with John Roberts over on the NALRETO facebook site.
John has a registry and might know of similar incidents.
