D350 4000lbs front spindle nuts - 05/03/21 12:21 AM

I have someone who wants me to break up a complete D350 hubs set that I have for sale and sell them just the bearing nuts and washers. Thought was a ridiculous request until I went looking for some...I cant seem to find them. Anyone have a source?? I dont want to break up my set.

The spindle fit 81-93 D series trucks with 4000lbs front end. No NAPA does not have them. I spent quite a while searching different sources no luck.

Check 94 E250. IIRC they use the same outer bearing, might have a nut that fits as well.

i see your pic but mine also says w/4000 lb axle. don't know. easy way to get correct number to google search is to take last 8 of vin number to dealer ,if 84 up, dealer parts dept will be able to tell what correct number is. then have them look for any other dealer that has it. if no dealer google search correct part number.

If I had to, I would buy a nut with same outside dimension. It will most likely be thicker and with a smaller threaded hole. I would then buy a drill bit and a tap to drill and tap the nut to the correct size then cut the width of nut down to match.

Find out what the thread pitch is and them go shopping at McMaster Carr. If they don't have it, Guitar has a good idea but I don't think you want to know what a quality tap and drill that size will cost. I'm pretty sure a couple of hours at a good machine shop would be cheaper and I think you could bore and cut new threads on a lathe in about an hour. After you set up the first one, you could have some spares made with not much extra time involved.

For what would probably be a one time use not bad on the price.

Thanks for the input. I believe I have found him a used set. He wants factory parts...
On a side note I'm gonna have to start drinking to justify my spelling...
