I have a 1999 dodge ram 1500 5.9 gas automatic 62000 miles . having a brake problem with it. driving down the road brakes work fine . But if I roll up to a stop sign slowly the pedal seems to go to the floor and feels like the antilock is working basically wont stop anyone else have this happen?

Sounds like the ABS module/hydraulic assembly is bad. I've seen that before.

My 99 2500 had a bad sensor on the front wheel hub/bearing assembly. Would fake the computer into thinking it was on ice. Pedal to floor and rolled 1 stop sign. Lucky I was a block from the house. F ing ABS junk.

It's all one unit.

I often wandered how do they bleed all that? powerbleed it?

I would bleed the unit first one line at a time then bleed the rest of the brakes normally. A pressure bleeder would certainly make it easier.

What happens if you pump the brake pedal?

I would suspect a wheel speed sensor cutting out. common to fail at lower speeds cause theyre workin harder. do you feel pedal vibrate like an abs activation?

it pulsates when it does it. leave off brakes step back down its fine. no lights or any thing. if I pull the abs fuse it works fine but then I have to deal with the check engine light.is their a way to check the sensors at the wheels?

A wheel speed sensor would typically set a code.

alot of times it wont set a code, occurrence is too brief. very common on gm's also. pull the abs fuse or set a hard code(so abs light is on) and see if problem goes away. or if you have access to a scan tool , can sometimes see it happen in whl speed data. just creep along at very low speed(5-9 mph) problem sensor will not match others if 4wheel abs, or will see it drop out. note, some systems don't drop lower than 3mph in scan data, I cant recall if its gm or mopar

yeah, I would speculate a wheel speed sensor. next step would be identify which one. that will require seein scan data. if you want to guess at it,which im not a fan of, change the one in the rear dif for the rear wheels, I always found this the most common to fail with dodge trucks. sorry didn't see your post that you have pulled the fuse. you can check sensors at the wheels with an ac voltmeter. but would need something to spin the wheel at a consistent low speed....its harder than it sounds and can be tough to detect
