1971 W100 instrument bezel - 08/14/19 04:17 PM
I am trying to figure out how to get the guage and speedometer panel off of the plastic instrument bezel/faceplate. It's got me stumped. I see no screws holsing the two pieces together.

I can't really picture what you are referring to.

IIRC, there are some snap rivets that hold it together. They simply pop out.

...I don't see any snap rivets....not like the B body lense/cluster ones anyways. The metal instrument frame is stuck HARD to the plastic bezel...maybe some hidden screws??? Bizare...

Post a picture of it and we'll see what we can advise.

Its been a long time....I think the bezel has flat tabs on the back that insert into metal clasps that grab the tabs. You need to pry the bezel out a little at each tab until all are out a little, the repeat, maybe 3-4 times. When the tabs break off, there is nothing that will hold the bezel in place, so don't break them all off. I want to say there are 6 or 8 tabs, but like i said, it was a long time ago. Gene

That makes sense now Gene...because there certainly isn't anything visible that one could undo/remove. I'll pull it back out of the truck and see. Thanks.
