rear door on 08 ram wont open

darn rear door wont open on the inside any thoughts on how to fixed it? i pull panel off linage still attach...

Dumb question time.... did you check to see if the child lock had been flipped on?

The bottom latch has a tendency to rust up on those doors. Remove the door panel and start spraying a penetrant. Let it soak.

If it was a 98-02 I would agree, but an 08 has the latch like the front doors.

I just reread the post and realized i misread it the first time.

so it could be rusted up ? i will spray it and see what happen.. thanks guys!

The rust thing was the 98-02 quad cab lower doors... I spray mine every 3 months or so, otherwise they get stuck. I highly doubt thats the issue on yours since the latch is mid door.

Pull the door panel and see if the rod is moving the arm on the mechanism. My 04 one of the rods popped off, no idea if that's common or not.

You may need to R&R the latch assy. to inspect it and/or clean & lube it (or go ahead and replace it). If the inside handle linkage is still attached to latch, then it may be a problem with the child lock part of the latch. Taking the latch assy. out would make it easier to see and work on.

I had issues with all where they acted like they weren't closed and made the dome light come on and doors try to constantly lock while driving down the road... pretty much they are junk from the factory.
