89 D150 parts houses? - 03/24/18 01:28 PM

Hey Gang,
I always liked the looks of these trucks and got a great deal on a rust free, 65k mile, all original '89 D150. Pretty basic model, but that's what I wanted. It's a run-around-town truck. The condition is amazing and it still has inspection marks visible! grin I'd like to buy a new one piece floor mat (no carpet in the truck) and a few other small things, not to mention all the tuneup parts which I prefer to keep Mopar. Other than hopefully the dealer, what's are the good parts house places for these years trucks? Thanks!

Cheers beer
Dave

Local parts store for tune up and maintenance parts. If you go mopar then you are paying for the name on the box.

Yes, these two. The floor covering at LMC for sure. And Dodge Connection has lots of NOS stuff, as does Ebay.

You are also paying for OEM spec parts. Not necessarily what you will get at the local parts store.

I'm sorry but oil filters, tune up parts, brake shoes and pads etc. are not what I would call oem only parts. How much of the mopar branded stuff is made by the same people that make parts store parts?

I will not use parts store oil filters ever on anything I want to keep. Aftermarket brake pads don't last and some are just down right crappy. Spark plugs? Yeah don't by them at the dealer but OEM wires are way better.
