My 68 D100 is an orig 383 BB truck, so no issues there when installing a new 383 Magnum other than some mods to the mounts so the shorty headers would fit. On my 71 W100, we modified some used BB mounts to fit the 70 383 Magnum. Schumacher sells conversion mounts for your truck, but says they're out of stock. I'd call him and see when & if he's making a new batch soon. http://engine-swaps.com/Pages/ProductsYear/66.87BRBtruck.html
I had a 70 D200 many moons ago. It was a factory 383 truck, and I remember it having a front sump oil pan. There was a mile of room between the pan and axle, so I don't know if it would be an absolute necessity or not? Gerst Suspension had a nice conversion setup for those trucks at The Nats this year. If you're looking to lower it and have a modern PS rack.....it might be worth a look.
