Dakota interchange verification question

Dakota interchange verification question - 02/11/17 03:16 AM

this is my 6th square body Dakota, but 1st that I am doing bodywork on. What is door interchange on 87-96s? This one's a 96, but strangely the cleanest doors in the local yard came from an 87. Especially strange for northern Illinois.
Outside door handles are missing, can I just swap them from the 96? pass. door latch also MIA, due to previous junkyard customer.
Any difference between reg cab and club cab?
need to know for certain before I spend the time and $$$ to have them scuffed and sprayed.

also on the 90s ones, they all had fender flares and black body side molding. that 87 was cleaner looking without (and less place for water to collect and start rust) are these glued, screwed or clipped on, like the 60s and 70s metal side molding was?

I believe they would be the same i would check the door latch location to be sure they look identical the flares are screwed onto the fender lips . I have had 5 square bodys and a lot of the parts will interchange .

ok, I know about the flares attachment at the wheel wells, but I was more asking about attachment to the flat sections of the body..... I'd like to remove it all (permanently)
thanks for the response.

That black rubber body side molding is glued/taped on. A couple pieces of mine were about to fall off, so I had to reattach them.
