1980 W150 Gauges - 08/26/15 09:58 PM
My Power Wagon's gauges have started doing weird this week when key is on or truck is running. Gas shows pegged out past full, Temp pegged out past hot(but sometimes comes down to hot mark, Oil Pressure shows only a few pounds pressure but amps are showing Normal. Dash lights etc all seem to be just fine. What has happened?

Instrument Voltage Regulator (little rectangle box plugged into back of cluster) is bad and sending waay over 5V to fuel & temp gauges, OR a short to ground in both fuel and Temp gauge sender wires

Tested it and it was bad. Priced them online....WOW! I remember paying $6 for those. I guess I'm old now and prices go up....

Wish I knew about this 9 months ago. I threw one away after failing to sell it for $5 on feeBay.

I replaced volt reg and we are back to normal!
