Looking at this 77 D300 I have....it looks like I can remove the whole front clip in one piece from the firewall and frame....?? Would I be correct in assuming that.....??

I've had the clips off of a few of my trucks. I never tried to remove them whole. Thinking back, I suppose you can, but are you going to benefit in any way if you do?

I actually have two trucks with complete front clips. One is a parts truck and the other is a truck I am cosmetically restoring. The truck I am restoring does not have that great of a front clip but my parts truck does so for ease of reference and minimizing the risk of losing bolts and screws, I thought I would keep the (not so good) clip together to look at when reassembling the restored parts from the other truck....??

I was simply asking, not criticizing or condemning. smile

If you do give it a go, please post pictures for others to see!

Pulled lots & lots of them. Depending on what your doing, it may not be worth the extra time. Lots of extra stuff has to come off/out. Takes 2 people to lift the clip off, after the front bumper is removed.

Probably the biggest issue is with the clip off, you get to really see what shape everything is in. I usually end up replacing about 2x or 3x what the original intent was, because I could see he actual condition, and also because replacing stuff with the fenders out of the way made those "what if?" much easier to replace.
