Locking hubs. What do I need to know? - 04/29/15 04:06 AM
I just bought a 1981 Half ton and one of the front hubs is broken. I see them at all the parts places I go to. Are they universal? Or are they vehicle specific? Or.... should I assume they're axle specific. I don't even know anything about the truck. I just handed the guy $300 bucks and drove it home without even looking. I had to for that price.

Are they auto or manual hubs? Either way I would buy a set of warn replacement hubs.

They're manual hubs. Are they specific to the axle, the vehicle, or are they universal

This chart has the right ones for the 80-93 that the OP needs. but for the 69-74 I don't believe they are the same, pretty sure they are held on with bolts vs allen keys.

3/4 ton had bolts. 1/2 ton had allen bolts just a different size and a different series hub. The new Warn number shown will work on both.
