1972 was the redesign of the Dodge truck, 1973 saw the first club cab which started the entire category.

We have a 73, my grandpap bought it new when they came out... so always assumed the first year was 73

glad to know this....I thought it was 1973 but not completely sure. I'd kind of like to find a very nice club cab "shell" somewhere for my project but I would imagine the solid ones are in the South West...??...

1973 are first year. They have the filler neck in cab even though fuel tank is under the bed. That switched late 74?/75?
