'72 - '80 Power Wagon, Where is the Backup Switch?

'72 - '80 Power Wagon, Where is the Backup Switch? - 02/07/15 09:34 AM

I have a '74 W200 Power Wagon, 4-Speed Manual transmission.

The backup lights are not working. To trace out the problem, I am looking for the Backup/Neutral Safety Switch.

Where is it located/mounted? I see the Speedometer housing/cable is mounted on the Transfer Case. Is the backup there or on the transmission? I don't see any wires attached to either, and I don't see a Switch.

Thanks.

On drivers side, very top of transmission, in the side of the shifter housing.
You have a either a np445 or np435 transmission. There should be an ID tag on it
