5.2 in 98 Grand Cherokee - 10/18/14 04:38 PM

I just swapped my beater car for a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 5.2 and quadratrac 4wd.
Who makes headers for the GC?I see them listed for Dakotas all over the place.Do these fit or are there Jeep specific ones?
I plan to do some other basic mods such as exhaust/air intake, and maybe a computer upgrade of some sort.Any other "best band for the buck" mods as this is my first "magnum" motor?

doug thorley makes a tri-y header for the 5.2 gc, but they are sort of "pricey".

Not likely,V-8 GC's were center dump on one side, whatever you do get the exh away from the oil pan. Those things cooked the oil and many engines paid the price.Full syn oil is mandatory.

Jeep engine compartments are quite a bit different, they had their own manifolds. I doubt you'd have luck with anything not specifically built for the Jeep.

The first modification you should make is to replace the gasket and plate under the intake.
