Will a 2009 and newer Dodge 1500 rear bumper fit a

Hello, I have an older friend that just recently bought a 1997 Dodge 1500 4x4 short box pick up and he needs a rear bumper. He was wondering if a rear bumper off a 2009 and newer 1500 Dodge truck with the dual exhaust cut outs would fit his 1997 1500 truck?
Anyone know? Please let me know...Thank you!
