800$ cut to 400#$ score of the day - 04/14/14 08:17 PM

picked this 88 swb truck up for 800$ got it home and sold the hood and 2 fenders/2 doors for 400$ couple hrs later.

clean title, slight rust on drip rail roof corner but solid elsewhere, has had the headlights moved to a 2 wat toggle switch on the dash. aftermarket a/c added under dash with non-a/c airbox. has had the pcm removed and a ecu/dist wired in along with the older VR/plug at the fender where the pcm should be. has a pre-roller cam 318 with a mech fuel pump.

I will be looking that wireharness over real good to see what is up with it...? not sure if it has been opend and some removed or what. I don't see any plugs for tbi stuff??

I noticed it has the small 5 on 4.5 wbp ?? has a 9 1/4 rear so I am needing to take time to get to know this ol girl here..seems she has been worked on a little.

I will be converting the front end to 4x4 leafs for a gasser truck build on whats left as my next project.

well I was able to have someone else buy it for the 800 and take the hood doors fenders for 400 leaving me to pay 100 every 2 weeks on the other 400.

I don't need it or really want it but it was just to nice to pass up.. so I figure what the hell..use it for parts/scrap the rest...sit on it as a running 3/4 of a truck that would fix right back up...or make it the gasser project I want to do(which I rather have a 4x4 frame to start with) but..? got what I got to start I guess.

not sure when I would get another this cheap or this good of shape around here in central Fl.

Not that it matters but 88 should be fuel injected unless it was a 360 4 barrel.

Very nice. Looks like it would have a made a really nice/fun driver if it had stayed together. Do you already have the stuff to replace the doors, etc...?

correct. looks to have been converted to mech pump.. it does have the tbi fuel lines down driver side of frame.

it has also been converted to a ecu/dist and the PCM on fender is gone. has the VR added on as well. runs ok and had no issuse as a driver. it has just been parked for 10 months now.

the 9 1/4 must have been put under it as it is small bolt pattern with the front rotors swaped to small bolt pattern with it.

must have been some kind of mopar mechanic that worked on it from the looks

the add on a/c has the lines thru firewall by the brake booster.

yea Roe, it wont be hard to get some new sheet metal for it, the ones of my buddy 81 are not that bad but not all that good either. he just want s to save time on body work..I have time to spare so I can just make it another project to do.

I will strip it all apart to remove a lot of the tbi and 88 specific crap I dont want to get it down to a cab/frame to start building from ground up. first thing is leaf spring/straight axle up front.

it wont have a hood/fenders/doors but you can come get it for 500$ I will get the hood/fenders/doors that they replace..which have just been painted a metalic gun metal grey. ACE on the gun again.

they were ready to go to the scraper for 300$ when I worked out a deal to save it for parts if nothing else.

no matter to me..I am stripping it down to the frame to start a build if it does not go as a whole truck fast. plenty-O-parts on it

whats up Goose? long time no see.

yes,i got the idea from this pic that was posted here. forget WHOS it was but I look at it often for reference thinking about how I want to build mine.

the 4" front lift springs, with the front axle yokes/knuckels on a straight tube axle. then all the 4x4 steering still fits and works.

use the cad axle spindles/hubs/rotors with a set of 4" wide wagon wheels for drag skinnys up front.

remove the stock 3" block in the rear to drop the back down for the nose up look. tucks some fattys up under the fenders out back.

make up some fenderwell headers for it and cruz the cruz ins with it on weekends.

Re: 800$ cut to 400#$ score of the day - 04/18/14 03:43 AM

but this is the look I want but just in a mid 80s macho truck paint job with drag skinnys/fattys for a street brute.

does not have to do much other than a burn out and look good cruzing without breaking down.
