Thanks Scratch and BulletBob - 04/13/14 12:21 AM

I scored a set of van bucket seats that are as close to new as can be from my friend at the local landfill. Bob supplied with a set of Ramcharger bases and scratch sent me the correct promatic shifter handle for a pickup. I know the seats are not color coordinated but just getting the cab in order is a big step. I'll either dye them or get a set of red seat covers down the road. Heres a few pick of the junkyard truck interior.

RED . Thats the big reason I sold my 88 short wide box truck 3 years ago. but Scratch and Bob are ok in my book too.

are those high back seats? how do they fit around the rear glass area?

I know a flip base with tall back seat on pass side will knock the glass out in a pick up...but not sure what and how that goober installed the bases either?

Mike I installed the drivers seat with the existing adjuster and a 3/4" spacer on the rear attachment studs. On the passenger side, there was no adjustment mechanism so I made a rail out of 1 1/2" square tubing and also a 3/4" spacer in the rear. Of course the passenger side is not adjustable but it clears the rear glass at least an inch and a half. I could've redrilled the mounting holes in the floor pan to move both forward; but this will suffice in the meantime. I installed large fender washers underneath but maybe late I will make up a solid plate to tie all 4 mounting holes together for piece of mind. Again, thanks a lot Bud.

Very nice, clean install. Hopefully one day I can have my interior look as good as yours does.

kool info on mounting them they look really nice. the new look on them is awsome in the pics so I know they are nice up close.

glad someone gets some use out of the only good part of that shifter. that longer handle for the trucks is just right.

give yours some time Roe. it will shape right up.

On the passenger side I drilled the holes in the square tubing to mount to the seat and then drilled holes about 2 inches back to mount the tubing to the seat base.

Found a new Dodge mini van center console that was taken out at the dealership on Ebay for $21.00. Exact same color as the seats and I couldn't beat the price.

now all you need is some gray door panels and visors, black dash, carpet and a interior paint job.

I'll dye or cover them down the road; right now I am just looking to tie up a few loose ends so I can drive it with a little comfort. All the mechanicals are done with paint and body work left. Got the rest of my life to do that It's a sleeper the way it is with the 512 in it and it's a lot more fun when I pull away from the chebys and ferds....they never expect it from this old man in a beat up truck

I acutally like the white seats. It sort of offsets all the red that drowns the cabin. It's great to hear members helping members!

I have a set of gray door panels for those year trucks. They cover the entire inside door from top to bottom and are in excellent condition if anyone needs them just PM me.

Great, hopefully the install will be easy. Passenger side took a little more time as I had to make a mount out of square tubing to marry up the seat base to the pedestal.
