2004 2500 ctd.is the remote key fob a dealer item?can they be repaired if one of the functions quite workin?

Dealer will have to program or reprogram it. You can find them on ebay and at JY for cheep. reprograming it is the issue..

they can also get pricey. my 2011 3500 ctd has a fob that is also the key, door opener, and remote. dealer told me it is $700.00 if i had to replace it. i miss old style keys. i am more parinoid about losing this key on my truck.

04 still has the TRW remote, those can be reprogramed.. some of these newer remotes/with key...they are down right insane with pricing...
