93 to 95 difference? - 08/14/13 12:55 AM

Anyone know the dimensional differences of the bed between a 93 and a 95 with an 8 foot box? I don't have a 95 nearby I can compare with mine.
Thanks,
Mike

I don't know the dimensional differences, but I've seen a few pics of 81-93 trucks with 94+ beds on them. From memory it looks like the wheel wells and over hangs are roughly in the same place, but because the old cabs taper in towards the top in a "fuselage" shape, the squarer, newer beds stick outside the cab along the beltline.

If that helps any?

I have a '90 W-150 shorty with a shot bed, and I've been thinking of putting on a newer style bed too because I can't find anything within 1000 miles of me.

Actually, I've been unable to find a hard bedliner for my older rig and I'm wondering if a newer one will fit halfway decently. I'm putting a tilt bed kit on and want to have a slipperier surface so stuff will slide out.

94-01 are the same. What's the reason? Remember totally did trucks

Everything. bout the only thing that could be the same is the inside of the bed and that's only width and length. We have an 01 Shortbed

^THIS is what he's trying to find out. He's not trying to use a newer bed on his truck. Just trying to see if a newer slip in bedliner will fit in his older truck.

So all he has to do is set it in an see? Call the company you plan to purchase from and get dimensions? Pretty easy to figure out if you ask me. Carlot abduction a tape measure?

Yeah, what the hey?? I'll do like you say and drive the 50 miles to see if it'll fit - it's only 3 hours wasted if it doesn't and I drive back empty. I just figured with the variety of knowledge here someone may have compared these things in the past. Excuse me for looking for a shortcut.

Well nobody gave you the info you needed. Not my fault. If you'd like I can compare the 6' beds and that will tell you there. Im surprised nobody else went and measured theirs

is a spray in bed liner out of the ?

we sparyed a 1 ton flat/dump bed with it and it holds up faily well so far. takes a beating thats for sure.

be on the trailer bed also, trees slid right off of it.

I have a long bed rubber floor mat I can measure up for you.

it is for the 82-93 trucks, looks like it would fit my sons 94 truck.

rhino liner or line-x doesn't work for ya?

I wanted something slicker like that molded plastic, figured dirt would slide right off.

By the way - the newer ones will not fit the older trucks. Didn't really think they'd fit well, but wasn't even close.

The grooves in my bed liner hold dirt, rust from scrap, tree bark and so on... It would be much easier to clean it out if it had a spray on bedliner. I just stick with the plastic to help keep it from getting dented when I toss logs and heavy parts in it.

Yep, but if the bed tilts up to a 45 degree angle things have a tendency to not stick so much. Unless of course you have an abrasive type bedliner that can act as a non-skid surface. Most of the spray or roll on liners I've seen are way too much like the non-skid surface aboard ship and they only clean well with high pressure hoses and here I speak from experience. So there is a method to my madness even though, as usual, I'm definitely in a minority group with what I do.

The only way to clean my completely is with a pressure washer. I've seen bed coating that were way smoother... all depends on how it's sprayed, smooth or rough.
