1981 to 1993 Dodge Ram Trucks.....show what ya got! - 04/14/13 09:58 AM

I'm the proud owner of a 1990 Dodge D-150, original paint (most of it anyway), V-6 5 speed. It was a farm truck in N.C. and I picked it up about 4 years ago for around a $1,000.00 and love it!!! Have had many offers to sell but not interested. I know there's not a lot of love for this style but if you have one... post a picture and some info....

No pics, but as I've said before, yours is nearly a clone of my 1990 that I bought spankin' brand new October of 1989, also a V6 5-speed. Mine had a cloth seat, and that same horrible tape stripe. Funny, my passenger door got damaged...

Anyway, best Dodge I ever bought (rather leased)! Enough power for my uses (home renovations), honest 24mpg in daily driving, and just plain nice truck! I should have never turned it in at the end of the lease.

No pics of the truck, here is the house it helped renovate! It was boarded up and abandoned when I bought it.

Uhm, well, if I hafta.. 83 D150, 86 W150, 87 W250, 93 W250. The Ramcharger isn't mine, but then I do have more trucks not in the picture either.

my 85 stepside daily driver.

91-318/727/8.25-2.76 gear/235/75/15

60710 lunati VooDoo roller cam/comp 901-16 springs,LD4B/q-jet.headers/duel glass packs.

gets 19+ MPG at 55 MPH.

I added the steering box brace and sway bar, been lowerd tubbed then back to stock with the chassis.

my 3rd engine,4th trans,2nd rear axle since 05' when I got it.I am 3rd owner local Fl truck. has rust issuse along front top drip rail,floors..ect...

I just love to drive it.

it is the only stepside running around my town.

here is my weekend cruzer.

88-440/727/8.75-3.91sg running 3.23 at the moment. 15 MPG keeping under 2000 RPM.

stock 77 440/727,RPM intake/q-jet,center dump manifolds/duels

flip flop with tubbs tucking 12" rims with 29x15x15 M/Ts in the fenders

88 rust free kansas truck built on 85 rolling chassis from scratch, junk 3 other trucks building this one.

my first body work and paint job. did it all in the backyard in the dirt. i think it turn out well.

fun as !@#$%^ to drive this one.

only 440 truck lowered and tubbed around my town.

My '90 W-150. It's a little rougher these days though. The bed is shot, and I've just about given up hope of finding a replacement.

Here is mine, 92 W350 CTD. It's mostly retired, just sits in the garage with my cars now. Planning to take it to it's first truck show this summer.

Wish I could find something like that for $300 as a decent starting point for a little short bed hot rod.

My son's 88, one prior old guy owner. Just a 318 auto but we're swapping in a 98 360 magnum and NV4500 as soon as he finishes rebearing the NV4500. It's got 35 inch tires on it now.

This is his 88 Ramcharger, really. 60 and 70, longer springs front and back, NP205 TC, beefy driveshafts, my old 400 is going into this one this year.

I've had this 84 D100 for about 10 years. 225, 833od, 3.91SG. Gets 19.5mpg @ 65mph. Body is in good shape except for the dreaded drip channel roof rot above the windshield.

I really like the Black 92 CTD dually, I just got my 92 D150 out of the paint shop, had the right door repainted ( had a weird crack /peel in the paint) had the area behind the door done also( the paint was thin since it was new ) and I took off the rear bumper and added a roll pan and had it and the tailgate repainted. I`ll take pictures the next time I have it out of the garage. I raced it at E Town yesterday, I lost second round but got a few on the ride home.

I'm dealing w/the same issue.... all rotted above the windshield. I hope to be able to find a clean roof section to graph on mine... hoping to give it a resto this winter....

@ Jim in Florida.... what late model wheels do you have on your truck? size? I didn't know the newer wheels would fit???

My Ramcharger 4x4 is still a work in progress. I think it's an 84(can't remember.lol) It has a 318 4bbl, 3" lift and custom front bumper.

My '93 D150. With the high cap, we call it the Popemobile. 318, auto with o/d, 3.55 with air and deluxe interior. Pretty much been retired the last several years. I need to think about selling it, or make it a regular driver again. I bought it hit in the left front in 1999. Fixed it and it's been a good truck. It came from Mississippi and has never seen a winter.

hadf my one weekend off a month a dove into pulling the warmed over 318 auto out of my rusted to death '87 to put in my '88. Gonna pull the V6 and dying 5 speed. Got the engine/trans out of the '87, then had to dig up the septic tank to get it cleaned, then ran out of gas and ambition. This stuff sure isn't as easy as it used to be!

89 W150 318 w/ a 727. 200,000 miles or so. Drove it daily for 4 years, withstood numerous burnouts. Has bucket seats from a newer Dakota and a center console from an 04 Ram. One day I'll restore it and put the step side bed I have for it on. Also had a wrecked 92 fully loaded W150 that I bought and parted out.

Here is my '86 W150 prospector. It is a 318/auto with a/c. Plans are to pull the 318 to freshen it up and a repaint in red and white base/clear.

My 86 RC work truck. 318/auto/241. Originally a 360 the p.o. dropped in a stock 318 with 340 intake and carter comp series carb. Found out also it has a 3.21 sure grip out back.

I have a lower mile 360 I plan to drop in it when I get more $$ rolling in.

Bought mine a year ago. Had a couple of mishaps, put some money in, but I love it. 1987 318 AT looking much better now than when i got it.

My 90 SWB 2wd ClubCab..360 TBI,Auto,3.91's..Truck is pretty well loaded with factory options. Currently doing a 360 MPI Magnum for it and something different in the wheel department.

Here is my 1980 D150. It has a 440 under the hood. It is dropped 3"/6" using van lca's and a axle flip. The wheels are 17" American Racing Ansen Sprints.

my 81 d150 project, /6 np435, she's getting a mild 318, 5 on 5.5 swap, SUA swap, locked 9 1/4 rear end, just a cruiser, the 2nd is my 85 w150, built but very very tired 318 4spd, hedmen header's duel exhaust, 6" lift, 35" tire's, hei swap. Soon to have a dana 60 rear an d44 front with 410 gear's, custom front bumper, along with a bed bobbing an will be running a set of chevy 56" rear spring's with the chevy shackle's flipped

A pretty decent rig! '84 Ram W150 Royal SE, has every option except for AC! Factory 360 4bbl, auto.

On our farm we had a 250 2 WD/360/auto in that era. It was used hard, abused, not so well maintained and hauled a tandem gooseneck a lot. It still went >200k. RIP.

Sean swapped the back springs to the front and put the longer Chevy springs in the back on this one, it twists around pretty good now.

Just swapped in a 440/727.
Soon to have a fresh coat of proper black suede, and an interior redo.

looks like he has jungle's kit up front?? is he running cross over steering as well??? I would love to run the back spring's up front but right now cross over steering is to far out

He's got one major thing to address right now. With the crossover steering when you are turning the force is applied to the side of the framerail and it moves an inch or so. He has to gusset the framerail or brace it. That will be addressed when the big block goes in.
How do you guys like these rustfree 78 fenders that are now butchered and smashed?

Dodgeconnection had a steering bracket that helps fix the frame twist/flex.

I sold my favorite truck a few years ago. someone offered tooo much and I couldn't resist. Extremely clean no rust Ebay special.360,727,3.55 A/C,PWD,etc. I swapped a built 518(PTC converter) into it,headers, 5x4.5bp,ditched the TBI and had a good DD. Now I drive a 1998 Ram ,uuugggg!!!

My #3 and #13 Rod Halls, I have a third 1990 black Rod Hall that's a rare 4 speed #11. Know of any more for sale(lol).

Pinkduster are you going to the Macungie show ? I am bringing my D150 as they said
I could enter even though its not 25 years old. I`ve been to their Florham Park N.J. show several times but never entered. It will be my first truck show with my D150 its not perfect but gets thumbs up and comments when I drive it, I`m looking forward to it. Your dually is sweet!

Yes, I always go to Macungie, but this year I was planning to take my truck into the show. Mine isn't perfect either, but does get compliments all the time. I was hoping to redo the dually fenders AGAIN and I finally got a nice (not bent) OEM rear bumper for it that I haven't installed yet. There is a small dent on my tailgate that I'd like to have fixed before Macungie and I'm still a little freaked out about installing the NOS tailgate trim panel.

I hear ya! my tailgate was in good shape but the paint was chipped from hauling stone years ago , I touched it up but the paint didn`t match. The truck had a painted step bumper when I bought it new, I bought a used chrome one at Carlisle a few years ago and this past winter I bought a roll pan from Summit and installed it. I just got it out of the body shop about a month ago having the tailgate, roll pan, area behind pass.door ( paint was thin from the factory) and pass. door repainted ( had weird cracks in the paint ). Since I also race the truck I have M/T drag radials on M/T wheels on the rear, I took them off and put my regular street tires/wheels back on so they match the front just this afternoon. Our cool Dodges get looks and compliments when we drive them it will be interesting to see what the old truck crowd thinks. It will be my first time going there, Should be Cool!

Simple as can be. Stock 318/904 and 8.25 rear.... Working on changing that.

got that nascar dirt track truck look with the petty blue and the steelies.

tuck the rears in a tad and drop it down some over the wheels...man it just makes me all giddy and want to dirt track a lap or two.

Here's our 1st generation Cummins, the green is a 1985 "Johnny Cash Special", we got it one piece at a time. The red one is a 1990 I restored in 2006 & sold it due to health issues, about a month ago a friend sees it listed in the local bulletin board so I brought it home again. Surprisingly it was in as good of shape as when I sold it. I used the 91-93 grill to allow for the intercooler on the 90 (I know they didn't start using intercoolers until 91, don't tell me something can't be done) and I just couldn't afford a NOS 85 grill for the green one.

I bought it for $4k in 99. Pretty sure the paint was relatively fresh then. The truck was originally silver and black, so maybe only the burgundy was fresh. The last time I saw I saw it in person was 3-4 years, and the silver was getting thin...Either way, the price IS a little optimistic. You have to remember that those of us in Ontario have to pay a premium for clean sheetmetal, and this truck was very nice, top and bottom. I still kick my own butt for selling it.
