You're first Mopar

You're first Mopar - 03/19/24 07:44 PM

I was thinking about this recently. The very first Mopar I bought. I'm sure it's been discussed here
in the past, but I thought I would share my first car here.
If you want, share your story, with a picture (if you have one).

My first car was a 1969 Chrysler 300 convertible. I bought it in 1984, from a
coworker of my dad, who worked at Chrysler Corporation. It was mostly all original at
the time. It still had it's #matching 350H.P. 440/727. Paint was about 90% original.
It ran good, but the car was well used by that point. I restored it over a period
of about three years, but only thing that bums me out, is my dad never got to see it
finished, since he died before I was able to get it done. This is what it looked like
after I got it finished. T7 Tucson Bronze, with black bucket seats, am-fm radio, with floor push button
to change the radio stations. P/S, P/B, not much else.

1952 Plymouth Cranbrook 4dr 6cyl stick. Given to me for free non running in 1962. Took me 2 months to get it running as it was the first car I had ever worked on. Thing was a tank.

Re: You're first Mopar - 03/19/24 08:10 PM

I was reading the college newspaper and as always looked at the classifieds. They never had much of anything, particularly cars. Something that day caught my eye: 1970 Plymouth, 4 cyl, not running, $100. I thought that's strange...did they make a 4-cyl car? Anyway, I called and it was a lady and she said come on down. I went with a friend and jumper cables. Went to the back yard. Car there, windows down, full of pine needles. 1970 was correct. Vit-C barracuda, console auto, black vinyl top, 318, factory luggage rack, rallye wheels. I gave her the $100, she gave me the title. No water in radiator - we filled it up, jumped it with some gas and starter fluid. WP leaking bad. I limped it home, cleaned it up, replaced the water pump, and drove the hell out of it. The thing had hi-jackers and glasspacks. Loved that car.

Re: You're first Mopar - 03/19/24 08:11 PM

My first mopar and car was a 73 Charger Rallye 400 Magnum Auto.

My brother and I went in together and bought it so it was half mine. I was 13 and he was 15. He wanted a Cuda and we looked for a long time for a car. We ran an ad in the paper for Wanted 66 to 74 Dodge, Plymouth, Charger Road runner Cuda etc. We looked all over 3 states and found this car 1/2 a mile from our house in the back of the same neighborhood we lived in. Lots of stories of crazy crap happening while we were looking for them.

It didn't run because it needed a timing chain but it had a 70/71 440 HP in the trunk. We talked the guy down to $750 and we had $650 towards it. My dad said we could buy it and he would give us the other $100 until we were about to leave give him the money, then my dad said no. We went to the bank to tell the guy we couldn't buy it and he let us have it for $650 but kept the spare tire. Dad was ticked when we brought it home but it was too late. When we went to pick it up the guy's son told us he had a trophy from racing it.

We got it running and since I couldn't drive yet I built my first engine with the 440 in the trunk.

By the time I was able to drive I know we couldn't share it so I ran the same ad in the paper looked at cars over 3 states with more crazy stories and found my Convertible by accident a mile and a half from my house. It was the first car I owned alone and at $225 it was really rough and over priced. It drove home and that was as far as I ever drove it. I bought a hard top Challenger for parts, my 73 340 4-speed hardtop named Red. It was too much fun to drive so I never parted it or finished the convertible. Still have all 3 and a few more.

The Red hardtop was the first car I owned and actually drove. I pulled it off the road at about 400,000 miles.

This was my Charger and a picture of my son in Red the Hardtop.

Re: You're first Mopar - 03/19/24 08:26 PM

First Mopar was a 1969 Roadrunner, blue with blue interior, 383 column auto, Gave a whipping $150 for it and drove it the 3 miles home.
The car already had air shocks and slotted wheels on all fours. Otherwise box stock I think.
Spent the rest of my savings on a set of Kelly Supercharger tires from Nationwise Auto parts.

This was the summer of 1977 I think. Drove it all my senior year.

Went to school in Nashville Tn the next year. Drove it down and shortly after bought a green 383 4spd car.
Pulled the new headers and exhaust off the blue one and my mag wheels and junked the rest.
it was already starting to get rusty in the lower quarters.

'67 Fury convertible, nice car but with "drunk bumps" down each side. Strong 383, my Dad drove it shortly after I got it and when he matted it and it blew the tires off he made the call that it would not be my first car after all. It got sold and I got a Triumph TR-4 because, you know, that's so much safer.

Bought in '72 a used and very abused '69 Road Runner. It was a 383, 4 sp bench seat car in F8. Shouldn't have bought it with the problems it had but I was too blind to those problems. Kept it through the gas crisis then sold it and bought a new '74 Duster 318, 4 sp. The guy I sold the RR to totaled it about 3 months later.

Was about to inherit Mom's 383-swapped '57 Sport Suburban, but it got destroyed in a near-head-on where I got hurt & it got totalled.
Learned to drive on that car at around 12, I think, from Dad...
I basically commandeered her '60 Valiant after that, age 16, but it wasn't actually mine.
First Mopar I can recall holding title to was my '69 Dart, a sweetheart of a car, though just a 318/AT/AC Western Sport Special.

No pic right now but mine was a '67 D100 utiline swb, poly 318 and three on the tree when I was 16. It was sitting on a guys side yard with grass cut all around it as if it hadn't moved in years, and it hadn't. I knocked and asked if he wanted to sell it. He hem and hawed and finally said "I guess I need to get rid of it". $150 and it was mine. Flintstone floors, bubbling on hood and real rough paint but I was in love. He let me get it running there with a new battery and gas can. I broke down three or four times before I got it home two miles away lol. Overheated, gas leaked, brakes locked up. I got it all squared away and drove it to high school.

Mine was a 77 B200 Tradesman Van with a 2 barrel 400. Actually said motorhome on the title. Seemed to be hemi orange with murals of sailing ships all over it. Finished off the inside myself(they actually had stores that sold stuff for vans back then). Cockpit lights, bed, icebox, sink with water, 4 captains chairs and stereo system that would bounce the outside mirrors. Thing needed an alignment every 6 months for some reason but loved it. Had to sell it in 87' when I got a job and they had underground parking. Van wouldn't fit due to what seemed like really low ceilings.

This with no white walls and a slant 6 instead of a V8. I lowered the front end way down to get some rake to the point it started to rub the front sway bar brackets on dips in the road and going up driveway curbs so I had to raise it back up some. Fun driving car that was good on gas, although I really wished it was a V8.

Graduated HS and got a job. My Dad let me drive his '65 Rambler until I saved up enough for a down payment for my first car.
1971 In-Violet 340 'cuda, 11,000 miles, 3.23 gears, white gut and roof, Rallye dash and a 3-speed manual eek. In 6 months I had a Pistol Grip 4-speed out of a totaled low mile '72 340 Challenger installed. 2 years later, I sold it to my brother (his first car) and he still has it. Great car and I still miss it.

Re: You're first Mopar - 03/20/24 03:37 AM

My 1st Mopar (it was my 2nd car) was a 72 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus. I bought it in 75, just after high school graduation. My 1st car was a 69 Buick that had 49,000 miles on it, that proved to be not up to the challenges of this teenage lead foot. I owned the Buick for 12 months and replaced the 350 Buck motor 3 times, and the transmission was slipping bad. I replaced 3 sets of rear wheel bearings, and 2 sets of new tires in about 10,000 miles. the Plymouth had about 60,000 miles on it but the 318, 904 and 8 1/4 with 3:23 gears held up much better. The 1st major repair was at 125,000 when I had the transmission rebuilt. I replaced it with another Mopar at around 140,000 miles with the motor still pretty much untouched. I sold the Plymouth to my brother in law He finally killed it when he went down into a ditch and ripped the oil filter off the motor. Until then, the motor was still pretty much untouched. It was a great car, and it was really pretty sharp. It was a bronze color, with a 1/2 canopy white vinyl top and silver across the bottom from the chrome strip down. It had the Magnum 500 wheels.

that Plymouth was the first of more then probably 100 Mopars that have been in my wife & my immediate family. I bought, sold, parted out, built, junked, and raced (on a dirt track), and driven Mopars a lot of miles since 1975. Still only Mopars at my house, but the newest one is an 04 model that is still here.

Re: You're first Mopar - 03/20/24 03:53 AM

I got this one most of the way back, but grew tired of waiting and moved on. It was a really nice car after the next guy ran it through his body shop for final paint. It was in epoxy primer when I traded it and a 451 stroker for a mint 68 charger that was a factory 383 stick car made completely into an RT clone, Dana and all. I think I did ok. The Road Runner ended up being sold a few times over the years, I’ve googled the vin from time to time. Once it was at Vanguard. I laughed when the guy said in a video that the “383 is really strong.” I got all warm and fuzzy when he talked about the brakes being so good, as I really out a lot of time and money into making those the best I could.

One guy threatened to sue me because I posted a warning on here about how it was being misrepresented as an original metal car on eBay. Pretty bold claim when I hand made more than a few parts of that car. Later it lost the lift off hood I put on it. Not sure why somebody put a regular one back.

The first Mopar titled to me was a '68 Valiant V100 ex-fleet car that I bought from the New York Telephone Company in Buffalo in 1974. Phone company policy at that time was to repaint their surplus vehicles to prevent unauthorized representation, so the purchase price of $150.00 included an Earl Scheib-type repaint in school bus yellow. The car ran like a top and I drove it for a couple of years in college. I sold it because I won a DEA sealed bid sale for a confiscated '70 LeMans. I wish I still had the Valiant....

My first car was technically a '71 340 Duster, bought it just before I turned 19, had it like 3 weeks, brakes failed, had a accident in it, never even got to register it in my name, drove it just 5 times, so I have always considered my next cat as my first car, '70 340 'Cuda, bought in 1987, still have it today, LimeLight, hockey sticks, road lamps, 727, console etc. It has a 493 in it now, runs mid to high 10s on pump gas on the motor, 3800lbs, full length exhaust.

My first Mopar was a '78 LeBaron Medallion coupe. Was my 8th car, my second street-legal and drivable car, and the first car I ever crossed the country in. Made the mistake of trading it for a '99 Chevy Blazer thinking that the move would leave me with a more reliable, more fuel-efficient vehicle to drive daily. Oh, how wrong I was. Great stories of your first cars.
It's amazing that some of you, still have your car, in your possession!
My 300 convertible is now owned by my brother, after he found it for sale
a few years ago now. I sold it in 1991( regrettably) and in that whole time, between then
and when my brother brought it home... the car hasn't changed at all.
It STILL has the baby moon wheels on it! I had a set of F60-15 Firestone redline tires/original hub caps on it
for car shows, back in the day...and the redline spare, is still in the trunk!
Keep the stories/pictures coming. beer up

SomeCarGuy... that Road Runner is really similar to the car that an older
kid ( 17) owned down the street from me, in the mid 70's. I was about 12 or so, when he took
me for a ride. It my first time in Muscle Mopar...It was B5 blue, 383 4 speed, with Magnum 500 wheels. It was kind of ratty looking..
and had no hood on the car, just like the pic you posted. He dumped the clutch, and took off.... smoking the tires drive
I was completely hooked, and just loved it... hence my username... LOL

My first car was a 1969 Chrysler 300 convertible. I bought it in 1984, from a

My first car was a '69 Dart Swinger 340 4 speed car. Bought it in1972 off the used car lot of a Chevy dealer. Put a cam, headers, intake, 750 Holley, and 3:91 gears in it. Used to cruise Saturday night with it. That little Dart surprised a lot of big block cars. I joined the Army in '74, went to Germany and my mother sold it while I was away. Wish I still had it...

Re: Your first Mopar - 03/21/24 07:47 AM

I'm embarrassed and now have given away that I'm an old f@rt as I read about all of these cool first Mopars I thought I wouldn't be the only old f@rt that ordered a '69 RR new or even bought a new one off of a dealership lot new. blush

Again a photo of my '69 RR back in '69. I was 18 at the time and about to turn 19 in a couple of months when it arrived at the dealership. Ah those were "the best of times and the worst of times". Got my draft notice just after Labor Day '69, and this is my older sister that waited every day leaning on my Road Runner waiting to the last minute for the mail as here then boyfriend was in Vietnam in the 25th Infantry. They are still married. One of the days that the mail was close to late for me to take her to work, guess what showed up, a letter from the draft board for me. Now I had to figure out where to store the RR. Keep it for 10 years and sold it for $1500. Then got the A12 RR, a '68 RR and a '69 M-Code Dart and then a '69 GTX all I guess because of that '69 "Best of Times and The Worst of Times era.

I was never a first Mopar

However, the first Mopar I ever owned was a '69 Dodge Super Bee 383 4-speed I bought in my senior year of high school back in '76-77

Re: You're first Mopar - 03/21/24 05:51 PM

I still have the first Mopar I bought. I picked up this 1965 Coronet 500 with a 426W back in 1980. It had a Max Wedge cross ram on it when I bought it but it wasn't working very well so I ended up going back to a single 4bbl. It is a factory four speed car, but I swapped in a Doug Nash back in the 90's. Still has most of the original paint, original glass, original body panels, etc. Car has never been hit and doesn't have any rust. Been stored in a heated garage for many years so it escaped the fate of a lot of other cars.
I'll probably sell it this year or next. I don't really need it anymore and I need to start to downsize a few things.

Re: You're first Mopar - 03/21/24 06:03 PM

I was just out of high school and bought a very solid 67 Coronet R/T with camaro front seats and no carpeting, for $500, that had many owners prior so that it's history was lost. The 440 that was in it had a bad rod knock probably because of the 4.56 gears that were in it. So found a 70 town and country with a 383 and slapped that in. There were a couple of things that were odd to me at the time, namely the skid plate on the k frame and the external tranny cooler. Doing further research I found I owned a hemi car. Being 18, and not really rich, I wanted to get rid of it because mini tubbing a hemi car which in the late 80's and early 90's were getting valuable, was something I couldn't do. Also didn't help that I hit a telephone pole racing a 68 chevelle after the throttle stuck open.

Anyway, a guy gave me good money for it and another 67 Coronet R/T 4speed parts car I bought for $300 to fix the damaged car. I later bought a 67 Coronet 500 that I restored and mini tubbed without worry of effecting it's value.

I still own it today and would also have a 68 charger that got rearended which provided insurance money to cover a very nice one owner 59 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer which was my dream car for 12 years until I found it. Never really appreciated the forward look cars growing up. It was all about the muscle car years for me. But as I got older, I started noticing how cool the jet age styling was just few years prior to the muscle cars.

Ordered this Cuda late May 1971, and got it sometime in July 71.
Ordered from John J. Collins Chrysler Plymouth, Waterbury, Connecticut.
Cost me $3,900.00 bucks, back in 71, with quite a few options on the car.
Probably built near the end of production for 1971 vehicles.
Kept it for 39 years, before selling it off, back in 2010.
Had over 300,000 miles on it, when sold.
Originally a 383 4bbl, 3:55 sure grip. automatic.
I had the 383 with 4bbl, then, for years a 6bbl. carburation set up.
Then i yanked out the 383, and put a 440 in it, transferring the 6bbl. carbs onto a 440 6 bbl. manifold.
Ran that 440 for years, until that engine let go on the I-5, coming back from a Spring Fling, car show.
Put another 440 in it, and that was the engine that the Cuda sold with back in 2010.
But i saved the old 383, and that engine left here also, when the car sold.
Ran consistent 13.20's, at 108 mph, at Sacramento Raceway, street tires, open headers.
Never did get it into the 12's.
Close but no cigar.
The guy that wound up getting the car after the flipper, tried getting it into the 12's, but he never did either.
He sold it, but it's still here somewhere in Commiefornia, but now it's Sassy Grass Green.

Bought this ‘70 Sport Satellite at 15 years old for $500 in 1990. It had a wore out 318, wore out front suspension but spent the summer once I got my license at my grandpas body shop sanding on it all summer & he painted it a few weeks before school started in fall. It was a fun car & was an original sunfire yellow with black vinyl top & gold interior car.

Thank You, saw one about 15 years ago at a car show and just had to have one. Bought it 3 years ago from the estate of the original owner who was able to keep it in great condition living on the east side of Cleveland.

My first mopar was in 1985. I was 16 years old and it was a 71 challenger. When done it had more bondo than metal. It was such a mess under the Dupont Centari enamel. Plastic door panes were powdery and degraded. Had a nice 440 in it and ran 9.3 in the 1/8th mile.

On my first mopar-71 Challenger I had the very first aftermarket partial 1/4 panels installed on by my dads friend. They were sold thru Sherman and Associates and were AWEFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But the lady on the phone at Sherman warned me- those panels were basically "A flat sheet of steel with the details hammered in by a guy." The wheel well opening with its details were kinda ok but there was no side marker light hole of any kind and the panel was flat as a sheet of plywood.

I'm amazed how many of you had a muscle car so early in life. My dad would've gave me tsk on that. I had to beg him at the age of 16, a senior in HS, to let me spend MY money earned from part time job and mowing many lawns on my 318 truck. And the only way I convinced him is because he knew I was pulling the mower behind my bike with other tools stacked on top of the mower.

Re: You're first Mopar - 03/25/24 12:21 AM

By the time I bought my 1st Mopar, I already had a full grasp of their potential, I was working at the local gas station with three repair bays and was doing tune ups on them by that time. My future wife had a 68 Sport Satellite with a 383, 727, 3/4 with 3:91 rear gears. I did a valve job and timing chain (maybe I slipped a cam in there...), and did some body work on it. We ended up selling that car to pay for our wedding (still married, will be 48 years in May). We started life pretty fast, we bought a house 6 months later (I was 19), it was cheaper then renting! We had a car for her to go to work (she got my car), a beater for me to drive (the one I was trying to sell when the buyer wanted the 68 way worse then we did), and shortly after, a hot rod to play with.

Before I bought my 1st car (the Buick) I drove dad's 64 Oldsmobile with a 394 4bbl, (it was fast even with 4 guys in it). I knew fast cars, and I knew me. I had a habit of breaking fast cars I knew I had to have something reliable for each of us to drive to work, and then a fast toy. I busted my butt with side jobs so I could have that toy and not short change the home life.

My first car - 340 4-speed, 44,xxx miles & F-8 green. F&R elastomeric bumpers, black interior, PS, PDB, 3:55 Sure Grip. Bought it from the original owner - he was an accountant for Chrysler & he ordered this Cuda as soon as the order banks opened. This photo was the day I brought the car home - July 1976. I taught myself how to drive a stick on this car.

My '67 Fury III that I bought for $300 in October of 1979. 383-2bbl with only 36,000 miles.
I have a color pic scanned from a Polaroid, but it's a .bmp file and we can't attach those here.
I had it for three and a half years and I bid on my current '67 because it was a red 383 4dr hardtop like this one. This one was a factory Bright Red Poly car, unlike my current one which was originally Light Green.

laugh2 I bought a pair of those exact panels for my '69 300, from Sherman..the car that's in my first post.
But I found out like you, they were just flat stamped metal, in other words JUNK!
So I got a Hemmings book..( no Internet in 1985) did research, and found a place near Phoenix Arizona
called Mr. Good Parts...a scrap yard, that sold all rust free metal. I had them ship me, two FULL
Quarter panels, came with inner wheel wells, and trunk extensions. They were cut off of a two door hardtop car.
They showed up by semi truck in front of my house, strapped to big pallets! They were supposed to be
delivered to the body shop, my car was at, and someone had screwed up! Luckily my body shop
came out, and picked them up. Those panels are still on the car today.

1987 Chrysler Fifth Avenue. Bought it high school as just a beater after my '80 Buick Century got totaled in a wreck. My friend's Dad was is a big Mopar guy who at the time had a '66 Dart drag car and a '66 Coronet Convertible gave me a 360 to rebuild and put in the car. Learned a lot and just ended up keeping the car. Been through at least 4 different engine combos over the years.

Mr. Goodparts - Brad Stoler. We ran into him a few times out in Phoenix - he was getting some of the leftovers we passed on. I wonder if Brad is still alive - I think he was a real druggie. The company I owned with my partner operated from around 1981 to when I sold it in 1995. Anybody buy stuff from Rare Iron Co? That was us. Our parts came hand-picked out of TX, NM, AZ, NV, & CA. He was very friendly, and helpful, when dealing with him over the phone, back and forth.
He shipped everything exactly as I ordered from him. So I was very satisfied with

1972, sophomore in high school, just turned 16, working at a gas station for $1.00 an hour pumping gas, $1.25 when I changed oil or tires outside on the lift.

Found a '67 Coronet 2drht with a bad small block. Not a bad looking car for dark brown. Local junk yard had a crashed squad with a 383 and a lot of miles. Sold my Yamaha 360 Enduro and gave $50 for the car, $100 for the 383 and tranny and swapped it in auto shop. Wasn't real fast with the tall rear gears. So, I pulled a set of 3.91s from a van in the local junk yard ($5) and then the old Coronet WAS more fun. Still didn't win many races, but was more fun around town.

That summer, I found a B5 blue '69 SuperBee in the 'dog row' at a Chysler dealership a couple of towns away. Fresh air hood, 3.91s, bench seat, column shift, crashed driver's fender and bumper and a 'bad tranny'. $165, a couple of quarts of ATF and I drove it home. The front pump seal was torn. Must have been when they swapped the 440 in place of the 383. boogie I started winning a few races with that car.

Then, right after I graduated high school, I found a well worn '70 340 Cuda with headers and Western aluminum slots for $750, Burnt Tan Metallic (NEVER liked that color)........................I turned down a green '69 Charger R/T with a bad engine for the same money only because the Cuda actually ran and I thought (at the time) that it was a lighter car. Sold the 'Bee for $750 and bought the Cuda.

Not too long after I got the Cuda, the local junk yard called and said they had just gotten a crashed Cuda in. Knowing I was a Mopar guy, they wanted to know if I would be interested in the 'odd' engine. It was a Shaker 440-6 car and the hood survived! boogie I never liked the 340 in the Cuda after having the big blocks so I must have shown my excitement cause I ended up giving $250 for engine and tranny with the hood! shock I had to borrow some money from my dad after promising him I would ONLY race it at I-57 drag strip. That was about the time that I was introduced to christmas trees at the starting line. Until then, they had starting dials.

Oops, sorry, got carried away................................

wow some cool stories..... my 1st car i bought in dec 1968 was a 63 fury, red, pushbutton auto, with neutral stuck pushed in... it had 135k miles, couldn't leave a patch of rubber if the tires were sitting in water- cost me 135bucks... i bought the car and paid the insurance with my own $$$ , my parents were not poor, but certainly not rich... if i wanted a car, i was on my own..

i was always envious of the guys at school who cruised in with their gto's, chevelle's etc... with their girlfriends sitting by their side.... tough getting a girl wanting to sit in a ugly red 63 fury... espec when the driver like his car are ugly...

i do think tho having to foot the bills for myself gave me some self-esteem for later in life... tho it would have been cool to have rich parents and drive around in a gto in high school

I was 16 yrs old my dad came home from work and said there was a 69 road runner for sale across the street from his work. We went the next day to look at it ( it was in 1974) 383 w/ 4spd all original 29k miles, perfect condition. My dad said we want to test drive it, he told me to drive, I had never driven a stick shift, said I can't drive it. He said if you're going to buy it you need to drive. I learned real quick. I bought for $900 that I saved up from my paper route and fast food job. I of course changed the intake and put headers on it along with several clutches over the next few months. Along with crashing it into a fire hydrant on a rainy night and then finally barrel rolling it off a 90 degree curve. WAY too much car for a 16 yr old kid trying to go as fast as he could..

Hey pittsburghracer, that's Keystone Raceway in the background isn't it? I raced my '69 RR there many times in I think it opened in '70 (?) because I remember for sure I raced my RR and motorcycles at PID in '69. Have to check when Keystone opened? Anyway, a little over ten years later I sold my '69 RR to a bodyman and friend working at a friend's body shop (Jack) Toole Auto Body off of Sawmill Run on Mcneilly Rd. I'm wondering if you might have ever seen or run across the 'RR as I had talked to my friend a long while back and he raced it (mostly street raced and some track time)? Just taking a chance that you or someone may have known or seen my first car? F5 green with gold mist highlights on the body.

Pretty sure keystone opened in the 1960’s but yes that one was from keystone. The other track picture was from Nu-Be drag strip in New Bethlehem Pa.

1963 Plymouth Sport Fury convertible, 413 with a holley 3 barrel, vitar torqueflite and 4.56 gears. I actually traded a guy outright., my car for his. His wife was pregnant and she couldn't take the harsh ride, so he asked if I would trade my '62 olds starfire, a beautiful candy wine red. We agreed, and he gave me everything that went with the car. I eventually had the motor bored out to 426 cubes. I don't remember what the color was called but it was somewhat of an electric blue, white convertible top. Many fond memories with that car. Re: You're first Mopar - 04/11/24 10:29 PM

My first mopar was a green on green 1969 Coronet 500. I paid $1200 and it needed brakes. The previous owner had painted it (poorly) and swapped a 440 for the original 318. She had a few dents and dings and bent bumpers. It had a thrashed interior and the front and rear window trim was missing. She was fast, loud, and fun! I had the front end rebuilt, brakes repaired, and did a few other improvements.

Eventually, I sold it to a guy and his son who were going to restore it…I wonder where it is now?
