Slick and slippery out west now - 01/21/24 09:16 PM

I live on the east side oof the Cascade Mountains in central Oregon about three miles south of the city limits of Bend, OR in an old housing development called Deschutes River Woods which is heavily wooded still. Our elevation is around 4300 Ft .
The locals call this high Desert, it is NOT desert down grin
I went out yesterday afternoon around 3:00 PM to get my mail and ended slipping and falling on my butt on the icy dirt road, it had rained a tiny bit Friday afternoon before sunset and we have black ice everywhere that I didn't see, I found out about it the hard way whiney
I woke up this morning and looked outside and saw this shiny coverage over all of the snow scope
It has warm up to low 40sF now so there is hope luck

Guess it's high desert in the Summer, but just high in Winter, meaning snow...not Oregon's legal herb...
Snow can be inconvenient, but ice is dangerous - get some cleats !
