How's everyone doing after yesterday's east coast storm? - 01/10/24 10:50 AM

The wind and rain where high and heavy!I was in Southern Delaware and it was beginning to get messy. We were expecting 70 mph winds at the the shore and flooding and loss of power but got lucky.Things seem ok .I did manage to find a yellow 73/74 yellow dodge charger. So how'd everyone do? drive

Florida Panhandle here. My place survived without damage, but a friend's house over in Navarre got hit with what appears to have been a tornado. He has a lot of flashing ripped off of the eaves, his fence is down, but the worst damage is to his patio room. It has a couple roof panels ripped off and a broken window. Oh...and his truck has both passenger side windows broken. The worst part is that he left Monday for a 10-day trip to England. LOTS of relatively minor damage in his neighborhood...

north of coder just had a couple, three maybe, inches of wet sloppy snow, then turned to all rain and some wind.
but not the 60-70mph wind the weather guys were calling for.
the lights flickered a couple of times, and that was it.
the snow is mostly gone now, but there are snow flurries as this is written. [10:36 am]

We had a lot of rain here in Western NC, but no high winds unless I slept thru it night before last. No damage that I know of. My first winter retired, so no going out to put power lines back up like I did for the previous 45 years!

Albany, upstate NY,
...Sunday we had 7 inches of easy snow, plenty of time to react, very little traffic impact..

Yesterday afternoon we got another 1/2 inch, then it turned to wind and rain which ended this morning,

... it's all melting now, it's a balmy 47F

Carry on,

No damage here in Southern MD, but had a tree take out the power. I looked at the power companies outages and it didn't look too bad. 9 hours later the power came back on. This is at least 2X what it normally takes. My main issue is I have to use the CPAP to sleep so basically was up till 4am this morning. Took the day off to make up for it.

Was in Aberdeen all day, it just was constant rain and light wind. The drive back to Central PA was the same. Nothing exciting.

Here in far W Md. we got 14.3 in of heavy wet snow. The kind that breaks snowblowers, plows and backs. That's on top of 8 in Saturday. If I can dig my 18 Ram out I might drive to OC to see family this weekend just to get away from this bs.

Ughhh! I feel for ya! That wet heavy stuff makes snow removal equipment look weak! Around here they call it concrete snow. I have a good blower and I went out 3 times to deal with 6 inches....still plugged it up a few times. Didn't break it though. Usually 6 inches is once and done. The news interviewed a local repair center....they were swamped with broken equipment.

P.S. Looks like we have another 6-10" coming Friday.....hoping it's not concrete!!

More snow all day yesterday, thankfully it is not the heavy wet type that breaks tree limbs off and knocks down power lines: boogie:
Looks like close to 30 inches on our sauna roof, hot tub, so far scope whiney
I hope it doesn't clog up my snow blower luck

We have 9-1/2" here now. Shoveled late last night and for several hours today. Normally we get this type of dumping in mid December and January and February snow amounts kinda taper off. Whatever was here last night has moved on so heads up to the next people it's heading towards.

Im in western NY near Buffalo to the east. We didn't get the snow Buffalo got but enough snow with some pretty good wind it made for whiteout conditions while driving. My daughter lives in a sub of Buffalo and got 2+ feet. We lost power twice do to transmission lines slapping together but once the breakers re set all was good. Typical winter storm.... IMO
