Windows 10 taskbar questions - 12/31/23 12:05 PM

I have the same exact settings on my laptop and desktop. The desktop has the clock, date, weather, search bar, and start icon there. The internet, calculator, word, and a few other things are not there. They were there a few days ago. Is there a way to get them back? Sometimes after a restart they show back up, but not the last few times. I have the settings on lock as well. It sucks because I have to toggle instead of just clicking the icons on the taskbar.

You may have somehow changed a taskbar setting. If you drag your mouse down to the taskbar area it should reappear while the pointer is there. If so, right click on the mouse and a menu will appear - click on "taskbar settings". The only buttons that should be "on" are shown below

Windows 10 has a bad habit if getting a corrupt profile and starting with a temporary profile.
If you never customized your background or theme it often looks the same as your regular profile except nothing you save will be kept.

Are your browser bookmarks still there? Are your files still there? I.e. pictures you downloaded or documents you typed up and saved?

If this is what is happening, your original profile is still there along with it's files but the temporary profile is re-created every time you reboot so anything you save to the desktop, documents, or any folder in the temp profile will be erased.

The settings match what is posted above. I do turn off one setting and back on and it seems to fix it sometimes. All the files on the computer seem to be there. Just a minor inconvenience, but hope nothing else is going on.
