Hello Everyone!

Hello Everyone! - 11/10/23 12:18 AM

I just stopped in to say hello and to see how everyone is doing?
It has been a long time since I moved on but life changes this way and then that way.
Yes I am still alive, but much older, lost 140lbs and I still live in the Tucson AZ area.
I hope all is well with you and I hope to hear from you if you get a chance.

Welcome back.

Congrats on the 140lbs That's a life changer. Kudo's to you. up

Any mopars in the stable? A lot of people move on after they sell their car.

I remember your tag name but I also dropped out for a while when life got busy. When I came back so many people were gone. You, OZHEMI, MoparJamie, AutoAMX to name a few.

Re: Hello Everyone! - 11/10/23 12:58 AM

Thanks, yes its been about 10 years.

Health issues almost got the better of me so Losing the 140lbs save my life.

I eventually sold all my previous cars and yes it hurts but when you have to, you just do it, the last car to go was my 71GTX.

And Yes, I do have my first Mopar again in 10 years, 69 Swinger 340, auto.

Wow i was looking at the list of names here and so many are gone.

Congrats on the weight loss! Glad your health didn't get the better of you.

Yes, a lot of people have moved on or died, so goes the cycle of moparts.......

I sold off my wagon a few months back, and changed my screen name (formerly satilite73),

Good to hear from you Nick. Kevin Pierce here. I was thinking about you just the other day, driving down I-19 past your old house. I still have some weatherstrip and stuff I bought from your business but never got around to using. I still have the '65 Belvedere, too. Though I might still have one of the Nick's T-shirts you gave me but I guess I wore them all out. Welcome back! Glad to hear you are doing well!

Welcome back and Congrat's on the weight loss 🎯🎯🎯. My wife dropped 125lbs over 10 years ago and has kept it off.
Next time you're in a grocery store, try picking up 28 5 lb sacks of potatoes. that's the equivalent of your weight loss and one of the things she thought about while losing the weight. Even putting them in a cart and pushing them around would be an eye opener đŸ‘đŸ»

Kevin you old man, I am glad you are still around, you still have my steering wheel in that 65 of yours.

What about the car in the back garage, is it still there?

Is the family doing fine, I haven't heard from Johnny in about 10yrs.

Wow. Yes, I still have that steering wheel on my '65. Kind of forgot where I got it. I'm currently down to the Belvedere, a '68 Dart, and a '69 Camaro SS. Family is doing well. My girls have grown up and are not as needy as they once were (Hallelujah!).

Hey Nick
.. Jay Waxler here. Not sure when you updated your scorecard last. Mirada long gone, I’m a small block A body “hobby” racer at best as I only get out maybe 4-5 times a year. Last time I was in your stomping grounds was the Hangovers back in 2018. I was starting to wonder if I was the last surviving AZ breakfast bunch gang. Glad to see you’re kicking
.. our AZ days are numbered as we're heading back north soon. We’re done with the heat.

Well, long time no hear. Glad things are working out. I moved from the NW IN 2015 and now living in Mesa. I was just down your way last month for the Duct Tape drags.

Hey Jay - good to hear from you, i see you have a new car, i thought you would have gone onto a Pacifica or something like that 😂
I’m still around, kicking and fighting with health issues every day. I retired from working 6 years ago and took a job as a chauffeur for my wife, I never realized how bad a driver I was until she started telling me,
“Red light ahead” “It’s Green” or “Why are you Parking Here”. whistling
Please let me know if you ever get to Tucson again, it would be great to see you.

It’s good to hear from you too again, you finally made the move to Masa permanently, I remember that you were traveling back and forth from the NW. Are you enjoying Arizona? Do you still have your Dart?
Please let me know if you travel down to Tucson again, it will be great to meet up with you again.

They look great. I have always wondered about the early trucks with the Hemi. They are interesting.

Welcome back and congrats on the healthy report card!!

I really slowed down when it comes to being on the forum as well. I just needed a break from cars for a few years. Luckily I didn't sell any of what I had, just stopped working on them for a while.

Hope you have the opportunity to get back in the game!!

Thanks for the welcome reply

I completely stopped, sold everything, bought a couple of Harley’s, then a Corvette, then a ZL1 Camaro, but couldn’t get the Mopar blood out of my head that I have had since I walked into the local Dodge dealer in 1969 and bought my B5 Blue Charger.

I just bought a 69 Dart Swinger and I am looking forward to seeing what a 340 is all about.

Re: Hello Everyone! - 11/17/23 04:39 PM

I lived in Tucson from 1963 until 1970.
My wife and I went to the NHRA race at Firebird last year. We drove to Tucson and up Mt. Lemmon as far as we could until finding it closed due to the fire when the Ponderosa Lodge burned.
Then, for old times' sake, I went to the site of the old Tucson Dragway. I spent many Saturdays at that track when we still lived there. It was sad to see it in its current condition.

I didn’t get to Tucson until 2000 and I was told about the old drag strip so I never saw it.

I did hear that there were a lot of locals that raced there and had a great time.

Nice choice, I've been looking for a '67 - '69 Dart for a while now. Looking forward to hearing more about what the 340 can do!

Let’s see if I can get this right or screw it up.

Oh and I don’t want to hear about the Rims are wrong, I don’t care, I like them.

Well, no matter how many times I've upload a correct orientated picture it ends up looking sideways.

Welcome Back. My first Mopar muscle car was a yellow 69 340 auto GTS. Bought it in 1971. I really wish I still had it.

Fixed it for you.
