Mopar Alley show this year

Mopar Alley show this year - 04/11/23 12:34 AM

I just found out that the Mopar Alley show is scheduled for June 10, 2023 at DeAnza College. Thought I would post it because last year there was a lot of confusion and lack of promotion about when the show was or if it was even happening. I suggested to them on FB that they should go to all of the forums and promote the show, but in case they don't I'm putting this here. Spread the word!

Many clubs have trouble getting volunteers to run the show and at the same time, promotion of the show falls short as well.
I'm with the Capital City Mopars in Sacramento and we have the same problem.
People can b itch all they want but you're complaining to unpaid "volunteers" that often shrug their shoulders or just quit when they get hassled.
It sucks. I wish there were more people to help out but the membership numbers sure don't seem to be growing.
Thanks for the update. Once we have an established date, I'll pass it on.

I saw they posted a flyer on their Facebook page today, but it didn't have a date on it. Hard to get people to come when they don't know when the show is.

Also, note that the show is on Saturday this year. It's been on Sunday for as far back as I can remember. We'll likely be out in the swap meet.

The club has always held their shows on Sundays as far back as the Ohlone College shows. I figured it was because the college may have some Saturday classes?

Just bumping this up since it is a week from Saturday. Hopefully there will be good turnout. I plan to be there.

Should be a good turnout seems to be under new management.

I'm going to make the trek and bring my son along.
I haven't been to the Mopar Alley since it was at Ohlone, was a member back in the '90's, but didn't have a car until '95 though.

Man, what a missed opportunity.
I had it all planned....I had the truck and trailer filled with parts to sell. I had the parts tagged with prices, I had stuff that usually sells quickly and I hoped to do well. One year, I made $2850. I'm not a vendor, just a guy that stashed away some garden variety parts for mid level A and B body cars.
Last night, I just couldn't get to and stay asleep. I had to be up by 4:45 at the latest to make it the 145 miles to the show at a decent time. By around 2:00, I realized that I wasn't going to get nearly enough sleep so I reset the alarm and slept in, then drove to the show as a spectator.
I got to see some friends and some great cars but man...I could have made a nice chunk of cash!

Heck, Kern Dog, if you couldn't sleep, do the drive !
Granted, you might pay for it later somewhat...

Ha...
For about half of the 36 years I did in construction, I worked out of town, commuting sometimes 2 hours in the morning and 2 1/2 to 3 in the afternoon. Driving long distances on limited sleep is doable when you're in your 20s but I am far past that now. I just didn't want to risk it. I don't like those energy drinks and I don't use drugs. Sleep was the only option for me.
I read that there were some long delays for the show cars getting into place.
It happens. Sometimes there are computer glitches, power supply issues, a volunteer arrives late....all sorts of things can happen. The big shows back east have admission charges and bring in a LOT more money. They probably have paid employees. Out west, everyone is a volunteer. Nobody gets paid. When you yell at a volunteer, they just quit and leave.
