General Lee Crashes on Missouri Highway

I looked around on the forums and didn't see anyone who may have posted this story. If this is a double post I will delete it.

That is correct there were a couple R/T Chargers used in the series. One was a 440 4 speed R/T that was the favorite of the stuntman to drive. It was used for the high speed scenes and survived several jumps before meeting its untimely demise in the dry creek bed jump scene often shown in the opening credits. That jump held the record for the longest car jump at 83 feet.

Story sounds like a 10 year old wrote it - not a writer for a website named motor1.com.

That show bought up every 1968,1969 and 1970 Chargers they could find in SO CA,AZ and Nevada while they were filming and making those shows. They wrecked and destroyed a bunch of them jumping and crashing them

This P!$$e$ me off more than anything, feeling bad for the child.

This was what i notice first. I can't stand seeing one of the best looking cars ever destroyed.

Where did all the wrecked cars go and were they crushed? Or is there a secret stash somewhere?
