She was an odd duck. Practically an unknown when she was cast as Saavik for Star Trek II. She was a big-time trekkie and it was her dream to be in Star Trek. So, the producers want her back for the next movie and possibly a recurring character. So what does she do? Asks for MORE MONEY THAN SHATNER was to receive for what was going to be her role in Star Trek 3 because she believed, due to her breakout role on TV on Cheers, that *SHE* was now the star of the Star Trek franchise.

.....aaaaaaand she never appeared in any other Star Trek role ever again.

not quite.......Wrath of Khan was in '82...the next Star Trek movie was The Search for Spock in '84. She didn't start Cheers until 1987.

The money part is true though, she wanted a pile of cash and they said "nope"

An agent might have been involved though so who knows if it was her or her agent making the demands. It has come up in the pinball world when they made the Aliens pin, they were in negotiations to use various actors and actresses voices including Sigourney Weaver's. Mind you this was just to use clips from the movies, she would have to do NOTHING but cash the check.

The number put forth from her representative was so ridiculous that they don't even have the character Ellen Ripley in the game.

Ghostbusters? She isn't in it, everyone else is including Ernie Hudson whom did custom pinball call outs for the game.

She was local to us here in Wichita.

We saw her a few times, most memorable was at the local target where she was Christmas shopping.

She came up and was talking to my 3 year-old daughter and was very kind.

That's all I know about her.

Correct...someone got greedy, and probably an agent. I remember seeing her on Match Game as a contestant.

Gene Simmons killed her in the movie Runaway.
