Check this baby out. 1974 - one of 208 made. I was going over in my mind just what I would order in 1974 if I could still order a new one - what options were available. And I wondered if you could order this car basically, but with a Track Pack Dana 3:54 with the automatic & air? OR, if you could only get a Dana with a 4-speed? (I'm not at the show - a buddy is sending all kinds of pics. Man, I REALLY wish I could've gone!)

I wonder how it would do against a 74 SD T/A

The Super Duty would EAT it! I drove a very low mileage 1974 Formula SD455 back in the mid 80's that a friend in Arizona owned - all original & stock. WOA! He ran a best of like 13.10 in the 1/4 with slicks. THAT'S MOTORING!

Good point, and losing the dodge steering wheel cover on the tuff steering wheel might not be a bad idea either, but don't get me wrong we'd love to have that charger. drive

back when my wife and i were first married, 1980, i still owned my junkyard.
i bought a 1974 charger se for her to drive from "the roof" of the chrysler dealer in town. that was the place all the junk trade-ins were parked, and my junkyard partner and i usually bought all that was up there, saving the dealership the trouble of running to the auction.
that car was a pretty decent car, needing only a pair of front fenders due to rust. had a 400/727 combo, and after a lean burn replacement to a standard points ignition, that car ran really good. i think i paid a whopping $65.00 for it............
the wifey really like that car, and drove the wheels off it until i mover her up to a new yorker.

Oddest '74 Charger I had was a factory 400 4sped PG 9.25 3.55SG all set in a green with white vinyl top SE body, green cloth split bench interior. One ugly sleeper!

What about the "ac compressor' ?? . . . sanden unit versus the RV2 . . . also, is the condenser aftermarket or OE ? Either way, it's the owners ride and he built it for himself ! Great to see . . .

I talked with him for quite a while, interesting guy. He bought it from Mr. Norm hisself, by that time that was almost unheard of! He did change a few things when he had it restored, the one thing he couldn't find was the rubber behind the front bumper, he had to form something from foam. Does anyone reproduce that stuff? shruggy

Interesting guy that is being nice. That car was in Mopar Collecters Guide a few years ago, I bet 90% of the stuff that was written was a complete lie. Joey did buy a 74 Charger from Mr Norm but that car was rusted out and scrapped a long long time ago. My friend found that car for him in Arizona and drove it back to Iowa where it the restoration was started . The body work was completed and Noel Automotive put the vinyl roof on for my friend. Unfortunatly my friends business was expanding and he was moving to a bigger shop and wasn't going to have time to get in finished in a timely manner so he had Joey take it back to Chicago for final assembly. He never paid my friend for some of the work that he did. Hes nothing but a POS if you ask me.
