A compact car doesn’t do much for me.

I dunno, I had an 86 Daytona and it was a hoot to drive. But it was fragile, 3 engines and 4 transmissions replaced int the 5 year warranty period.

Same here. I hope it's a cash cow for them though so it'll fund more fun stuff.

No secret that Stellantis wants to platform-share as much as possible.
Look at what MBZ & Fiat did previously; nobody's gonna tool up an all-new Mopar sedan.
I recall a Hornet concept car many years back - '90s ? - that was cool.

Platform share yes but this is bascially a rebadge as far as I can tell. That said I'd expect at least 300hp out of it. I've driven a Rav4 PHEV and it packed a punch for what it was when floored from a dig. Weird sensation the electric motors giving torque yet the scream of the engine as well.

At least they didn't call it a Dart or Duster. I don't mind seeing electric grocery getters. Just keep the greenies hands off the performance models.

I don't get why the US car makers can't make money on small cars, honda and toyota make a ton and they don't make crap that needs to be constantly renamed and badge engineered to hide the fact they are still making garbage, I mean how many small cars has dodge had since the civic and corrola came out?

Sorry for the rant.

Over the last 30 (?) years, Chrysler has gone from Chrysler, to that holding company, to Mercedes Bentz, to Fiat, to now the new people. Everything someone new puts their name on the paperwork, they replace the very old outdated product line with a rebadged models of their own production, restyle one or two of the old product line, and maybe after a few years, add one or two new new models based on one of their existing platforms.

As long as the company is under revolving ownership, nothing is going to change. Some improvements may happen if a company holds Chrysler enough years to actually develop a "new" product line, Mercedes and Fiat come to mind. If you expect a new owner to start off investing in an all new product line for something they just bought, you really are dreaming.

Wow I thought the Ford Focus couldn't get any uglier and then they release that...

Wait it's a Dodge???

It looks like the ugliest Ford focus's even uglier sister that they keep in the basement so nobody will see it.
