Damn, now just two dogs.

Damn, now just two dogs. - 04/08/22 06:10 PM

My 14 year old St. Bernard/Cocker Spaniel mix couldn't get up and walk this morning. She was my constant companion for over 12 years. She was super friendly and a very good dog. We've known she has had arthritis for several years now, treatments, braces and booties just weren't helping much anymore and I guess this morning it just all took it's toll on her. Rest in peace my sweet Jasmine. I'm going to miss you. bawling

Thanks guys. This is the second time within one and a half months we had to euthanize our senior dogs.

Sorry for your losses GJ! Pets love you unconditionally and therefore are tough on you when you lose them!

Very sorry to hear this GJ. I had to put my buddy of 12 years down in January. Sucks.

Its always sad to hear that. Its the biggest down side of having a dog or any pet when they get old. They don't live long enough. Mine is 13 1/2 and I try not to think of that.

Some say it's wrong but i have found that it really eases the loss if one promptly gets another. It helps take you mind off the loss and I like to believe that our departed companions would be happy and approve knowing that one of theirs was going to have a good life angel

We got a Border Collie puppy early in February and we still have our two year old Catahoula, we have no plans to get another dog, but I agree with you. I got Jasmine the next day after my last Catahoula died unexpectedly from a pygmy rattler.

I know how you feel. When the poised dog food came through China to America, it killed both our dogs and the third one died a month later. If we had known it had come from there (American brand) then we would have never have had bought it. Now we make a special diet for the poochies now.

I figured by the "we are good dogs look" but the hooligan part is one of the tools they use to attach themselves to your heart wink

No, no, they are houligans as in the original catahouligan on the right. laugh2 She is teaching Bob all her Catahoula tricks and bad habits.

Sorry you lost your dog...We lost our little one last year in March. We found another just like her in April and adopted her. They are truly a member of the family! up

I wish they could live much longer. The older we get, the less 15 ish years takes to go by. My first and only dog was from age 5 to age 20. Seemed like forever! My gosh my sweet Lucy was there for my entire childhood.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Letting them go is hard, and no matter how many times you've done it, it never gets any easier. frown
