"Guacamole" Challenger - 11/04/21 05:38 PM

Would you buy a Challenger with a plaid interior?

Not like that. Looks like a 70's Jeep/AMC interior.

That's a dig on the Tesla plaid for sure - my guess that may be an option very few will buy - then again the Mod Top ending being more collectible

Overall there looks to be a target market for that car...what group, hmmm?

Color looks like the green on a old runner I had and I liked so I think the name is more extreme then the actual color.

I think there could be better color combos that would sell better. I would not be a buyer with that color and the seats as they are.

I'm a big fan of the plaid interior, and the wood trim, too. I really dislike the boring gray/black guts that most vehicles come with. I will go out of my way - and have - to get an interior with character. But hey, that's just my preference. It's good to have choices, if the automakers thought the majority of people would buy a plaid interior I'm sure damn near every car would have it. Like gray and black...yawn

I dig it. Nice color break-up in the interior, and that's a pretty decent shade of green. Digging the white-letter tires, too. twocents

I'm fine with the plaid cloth, not really a fan of leather or vinyl for a seat surface.
Don't mind the simulated woodgrain, either.
Nice to see a different interior from the usual stuff.

The shaker is not Gold colored shruggy Otherwise yes I would buy it because of the color and plaid interior. Granted I am a fan of green, brown and especially tan cars.

Big fan of the odd interior cars, and still own one.
I like to effort, but the plaid pattern is too large in my opinion.
If they reduced the pattern size and made it closer to the old style it would fit in much better IMO.

And calling the paint hue 'Rotten Avocado' doesn't help to sell the image either. They couldn't come up with something better? How about ' Avocotive ' ?

I will say that is is an ‘interesting’ interior for a car.

Poor description in that article - Mopar posted it on facebook with better pics. I love the throwback look!

"We took a 2020 limited-run Challenger R/T Scat Pack 50th Anniversary Edition and gave it a throwback treatment. The result is the Holy Guacamole concept, with a cold-air intake, conical air filter and optimized air box for improved airflow and performance."

I love more hemi orange paint on the motor, raised white letter tires, and the ghost stripe

Blue with a denim interior like the old AMC/Jeeps had would be cool

Although it looks a bit unusual, I am glad to see something other than the standard, bland dark gray colored interior that every car seems to have.

We had lawn furniture with that plaid.

Re: "Guacamole" Challenger - 11/05/21 06:07 PM

The plaid to me makes it look like the cheap version of some thing, and that ain't no cheap ole Dodge.

I agree, something different than the same old shades of grey we have been getting for, what, the last 20-25 years, in almost everything?

I like the rest of it, and would gladly live with the interior.

Not to say I would ORDER one that way, but you know, the crackers, bed thing ...

Yup,and I think it would be cool if they did some Levi version interiors with complimentary exterior colors...blue,orange,red,etc. I think overall it is a great looking package, especially the Magnum 500 styled wheels.Much better than the blackout trend so common now.

Re: "Guacamole" Challenger - 11/15/21 05:30 PM

Based on what I saw at SEMA last week, plaid seats are a current trend. I'm OK with it. I liked the whole package with this car (woodgrain, Polyglas, ghost stripe, etc).

FYI, Dodge placed this car in the general show parking at Roadkill Nights back in August along with a black new Charger with the old "Dodge" script emblems, '68 style dog dish caps and I believe at least one Fratzog on it (in addition to the ones on the dog dishes). I preferred the Challenger but the Charger was cool, too. Sadly, a lot of people walked right past both of them and never noticed the subtle touches.
