Is it wrong that I'm excited that I now have a working bathroom in the detached garage? laugh2

It's about 400 feet from the house, so if you need a bathroom in a hurry it can be a long way.

After looking through my pictures, I need to take some more current ones on the progress of the garage. work

No. My shop is 300' from the house and I have a bathroom in it, the septic tank and well was already there when I built so it was a no brainer to have a bathroom. Someone commented one time that it was only 100 yards from the house, my reply was that I may only have time to make it 50 yards. whistling

It can be pretty exciting to NOT have a bathroom shock

Hope that distance from the house isn't an issue for gas & electric.

That's pretty cool. You've got to have reached a certain age to appreciate such things. Sadly, I've got a detached garage and have an old liquid detergent container for..... emergencies....

Great! Now you can live out there when you're in the middle of a big project laugh
I'd actually like to have a wash-up sink and a water heater, but the 100' to the house isn't a bad walk...

Anyway I live on 56 acres and the woods are just a few yards from the shop building... if it's a real #2 emergency, I can always join the black bears thumbs

Not sure I would have put the furnace and the toilet in the same room, smells spread.

Should you be excited? You bet!! Two thoughts:

1) When you are young, the first thing you want to find is the bar. When you are old, the first thing you want to find is the bathroom.
2) There will come a time when a good healthy crap is more satisfying, and enjoyable, than sex.

I'm there on both counts. grin

We're rural so it's propane for the gas.
They set a 500 gallon tank last April, of course it was July before they came back out to run the gas line to the garage for the boiler (garage has radiant floor heat).
I finally turned it on last week when the weather started to cool off.
It doesn't seen to have to run the boiler a lot to warm the garage up.

The walls and ceiling have 6 inch thick insulation.

As for electric, there was already a 200 amp service to the old garage there.
What the pic doesn't show is that I connected the two buildings and the bathroom is between the two at the back of a carport area.
The bathroom/boiler room is 8 foot by 10 foot.

I definitely need to take some more current progress pics. laugh2

The insulation seems to work pretty well, I put a window A/C unit in a wall and it cooled it just fine this summer.
I need to finish the inside walls and ceiling, but the price of lumber has made me decide to wait till prices drop.
A 2x4x16 is normally $4.50 and the were up to $20.50 till recently, they're still $10.70 right now.

I think the most recent pic of inside I could find was when I was assembling the 4 post lift.
