I would loved to do this one. All these west coasts shows are on my bucket list
But ,,,,, a big show here in town the weekend before will over rule it this year

Well they canceled a couple days before last year. Any word on a host hotel seeing as the Airtel is now a homeless shelter?

They’ve had large car shows at the park all summer. The venue situation is different; two parties instead of 3 involved.

Working on hotel situation.

If Airtel not available, there’s lots of others. Maybe a little further away.

Our plan, if we make it down for the show, will be to head down early Saturday morning and stay Saturday night somewhere near Magic Mountain or farther north.

If I make it out I likely will stay at the Ayers in Manhattan Beach.

What does that mean? I don't understand.

We are renting directly from city.

With a track, you’re renting from track and they take direction from city.

Just nicer cutting out the middle man.

Won’t be able to make it, came down to the wire on hotel reservations so decided on the RT66 Street Drags that same weekend. Springfling for sure.

A friend of mine will likely be there, as well. He lives just outside Kingman.

i would like to set up a swap space, but would like to know what the outdoor rules are going to be because of the corona thing, masks no mask's? any info on what cpw is requiring or not requiring? i dont want to get there with a truck full of parts and wait inline to find out there are some special rules.

There are no City outdoor mandatory mask rules for our outdoor gathering. We are following those rules and not requiring masks.

There have been other car show recently at Woodley and there were no mask requirements. I was out there last Sunday to do a check up, and plenty of people not wearing mask.

We are not even close to a tier of a mega-event that has other requirements

well hopefully you guys wont go this route, my son got a text saying the yahoo's that put on the pomona swap meet said that you can not get in without proof of the vaccines and mask's, i hope to god people boycott them.

Woodland Hills, Calabasas and much nicer areas west of the show on the 101 fwy.

Made the decision today to just come down and be a spectator. Gotta ask though about handicap parking. Am I correct that most, if not all, of the north part of the parking lot is handicap?

Kinda ummed the Airtel is not a host hotel. Is it true it's now for homeless people? That was a 4 star hotel.

Where are overnight visitors staying? Is there any hotel that most of the regulars are staying? Part of what makes the show great is the "after hours" gatherings.

But usually on Friday nite the car guys meet @ the Bobs, 8876 Corbin Ave, Northridge located about 3 miles from Woodley Park..

"After Hours" .....When the show is not going on, you know...Like night time. When the Air Tel wasn't a haven for the scum of the city, we hung out in the parking lot. You guys that live in town must never attend those gatherings but those of us that fly or drive in certainly do. It is like a backstage pass.
Spring Fling has the Malibu Cruise, the Bob's Big Boy in both Northridge and Burbank are club sanctioned activities that we also enjoy.

Fall Fling:

Friday night cruise-in at Bob Northridge

Friday Malibu Driving cruise at 9:00am at Woodley Park

The pre registrations are flying in now. About 8-10 a day now. Will ramp higher next few days.

Swap is looking good… Lots of two (truck and trailer) and many big three swap space (truck and 2-car trailer/driven car for sale etc)

Fall Fling 2021 pre-reg paid in advance numbers are already greater than last 2019 Fall Fling.

U-code absolutely loaded 70 Challenger Rt/se with dealer installed 426 Hemi (I’m thinking for A/C unavailability reasons). Same owner since 1971 bought from dealer after repro/confiscated by dealer for not making payments. Original U-code motor still with owner because it was still at the dealership in 1971 !

Why is that? I have wondered for years why the car show participants are locked in.

Thanks, I have heard that before but it still doesn't answer the question.
Why would they mandate it? What is unsafe about an open gate at 1:00 that is suddenly safe at 1:01 ?
I'm not trying to be difficult, I just don't see the logic.

They do t want people Cruising around during a show.

I do remember when people would literally drive around to look at cars instead of walking. One incident years ago was ridiculous and person refused to stop. Was like a tour bus with one person. Was a causal moparts member here years ago with 2 door wagon. Person has since passed.

Were there a lot of modern LX type cars in attendance compared to older stuff?

Maybe one row. 30-40 out of 200 cars. It rained in morning. Would have been even higher percentage of older stuff without the rain.

Notable cars that stopped by the rain: 68 Hemi Charger 4sp, promo red/red 440-6 4spd Challenger conv, AMC Machine, Superbird, Daytona, just off top of my head that I knew about.

Even yet, still bunch of super cool rare older muscle cars.

Were the two “max wedge” cars for sale real? Seller didn’t know much about documenting them.

Here’s some sorta rare/odd stuff in the swap

This NOS headpipe is ultra rare. It’s for the 64 Tri Y spaghetti exhaust manifolds that maybe 2-3 sets exists??

Also in the middle of the rocker picture, I think there’s a set of BB Norris rockers?

Odd valve cover mod. And check out the Tri Power Ford FE intake in the back!

Are there more Tri-Y headpipes floating around than manifolds.

IIRC, Seller at Fall Fling said he go them from a racer. They didn’t have any marks from being bolted to anything. Wondered if they were ordered by mistake. Or more headpipes built in anticipation for manifolds that’s were not built?

I BELIEVE "?" That Scott Smith ( Harm's Auto ) had tried to 'borrow' a set of those manifolds to reproduce , however he couldn't find anyone to loan a set ?

Yes I saw that thread when checking if these head pipes looked real. They do.

I'm pretty sure those head pipes belong to George Longacre out of Stockton. He's got tons of very rare parts that few are looking for.

What year is the Crew-cab?

I have a 64 D200 now that Peter Jenslund found for me on Oso Avenue!
It was a 318 Poly that has now got a S/S, but I'm gonna put a 413ci in there with a 5 speed.
If it all goes well then I will bore her to 426ci and make her into a WSS etc.
