Your pictures show why I love salt racing....true hot rodding at its finest. Take something anything and engineer it to go faster.

If you have never been to the salt, you should try it.

That wagon is doublebutt UGLY puke shruggy
The view of the motors makes me realize that owner, builder, is dead serious in his efforts to go fast bow up
I had thought about building Dodge Stealth all wheel drive turbo charged V6 for the salt for but they eliminated that class after I called to get the rules whiney shruggy
The record was 177 MPH for that class that year, they said later I could run it in C modified sports car with a current record at that time of 277 MPH shock My pockets aren't that deep and the desire was not that strong down
I use to live about 30 miles from El Mirage dry lake and went out there several times to watch them, SCTA (Southern CA Timing Assoc.) race, one mile running start and 1/4 mile timing traps with around 3 miles shut down hammer
Dirty and no traction whiney

Years ago I drove out to Carson City from MN to deliver a car in time so I could go to Hot August Nights. I will never forget after driving down the mountain from Salt lake City and driving across the salt flats. You could see every ten feet where someone would just leave the interstate and drive out and back from the flats. Also a bunch of Morton mining mounds. Hot as blazes out. The salt stinks. I stopped at the 2 logs that held the sign for the 'Race way" and took a photo. No gas station. Nothing but salt. Hard to believe anything like the races ever existed there. Further on is Wendover. Further from that on the way to Carson every 5/10 miles warnings to not pick up hitchhikers as they have small prisons out there. It's on my bucket list to go back and see the races beer

The K&K Daytona is a fiberglass clone. Basically a Cup car reskinned. Has a NASCAR Dodge Cup Motor in it as well. I saw the car in NC, at the shop that was building it, in May.

The 8523 Daytona belongs to a Moparts member, The K&K pro built car had nothing on him. I believe their best run was 217.
Jerry's Daytona ran 230.973 exit speed before burning a piston. First time there for me and first time for 8523.
We are already planing for 2022.

How about them Montana Dodge boys? Running a 28 Dodge roadster to class records, 127+ mph with a 1928 Dodge flathead four.
