Never paid attention to college football much, & never knew about him. But after reading the article, I can say he must have been really something. I could feel the greatness as a human being about him while reading that. May he rest in peace.

His actions as WVU coach after the Marshall U tragedy were an exceptional example of what a coach should be. Being married for 72 years, as stated, is an impressive thing. RIP.

when my one aunt and uncle were celebrating their 50th, someone asked my uncle what it was like. his reply : "hell, pure hell !" whereupon my aunt whacked him upside the head...........
you had to know that couple to understand.
they were quite a hoot to be around.
