International Harvester tractor and implement white. It's a creamy white, you'll just have to imagine chrome acorn lug nuts as I won't have them for a couple more days yet.
Vote for which style you like best.

I like the 1st one.

So these are wheel choices are for a tractor, and not the truck?

Lol, no it's for the truck, it's just tractor paint.

Ok, gotcha.

I'd also like the first version with the wheels painted blue to match the truck. That with chrome lug nuts would be good also.

Thought about that, as well as painting them champagne, but decided against it.

I like the small caps without trim rings.

I like the red truck in the background.......... biggrin

Not a fan of white/cream colored wheels with chrome lugs, the lugs kinda get 'lost' on the light background. They don't 'pop' like with a dark (black) wheel.

Same deal with chrome rings, they need that darker background to stand out.

I'd keep the light wheels with the factory caps...style 2.

Fake chrome rim covers but they look ok.

Bare steel wheels is the way to go.

One has a 2006 club cab F350 with a flat bed. His wife drives a 2019 Ford Raptor. The other neighbor has a Chevy 1/2 ton with a flat bed on it. All are 4WD.
Good looking old Ford you got there. Those trucks were tough.

What year is that, about an '83 I'm guessing? Still looks good for it's age.

82. 400, 4 speed with creeper 1st gear, 4:10 Dana, rubber floor, dual tanks that still work. Weird that it is an XL, but has AC and full gauges, though.

Re: Tired of the black wheels, going old school... - 07/22/21 11:43 AM

I like the 80-s ford body style but always avoided them due to the 80-s types smog sludge motors ford produced at the time.. I used to buy and flip a few as the cat/s would get clogged and any place that had a weak gasket would spit oil but was never motivated for an engine swap.

The wheels were painted a lighter argent silver stock.

#1's the only way to go. It makes a 3/4 ton look masculine not like one of those sissy 1/2 tons! grin

Number 1. I like to let the chrome nuts hang out so they can be seen, otherwise, what was the use of buying them?
I guess I've had too many issues with the dog dish caps, the trim rings, and the full caps.

Well I ordered them thinking about letting them show and maybe using the trim rings, but I don't care for the looks of the trim rings. But if nothing else I guess the closed lug nuts will help keep the threads from getting rusted. Everything rusts around here.

Not if you paint blue them as an Air Force truck.

Re: Tired of the black wheels, going old school... - 07/23/21 11:24 AM

I like the not_a_charger idea. Sorry I know that wasn't a choice but his Ford looks good like that and I think your truck would look really good like that with matching blue wheels and caps. Otherwise #2.

Re: Tired of the black wheels, going old school... - 07/23/21 02:57 PM

At least 22' diameter, a foot wide, chromed, so the truck looks like a radioactive skateboard - oh, and jack it up 6" or so.

No, just kidding, that's ridiculous.
Me, I'd run the silver or white wheels with hubcaps of the choices offered.
Or a later model factory alloy wheel.

(Says the guy who perpetually agonizes over wheel choices...)

My vote is #3, Trim rings with chrome lug nuts.

Not totally sold on it yet. I think I'm going to put the chrome lug nuts on and run it like that for awhile, it might grow on me.

Thanks guys. I got the chrome lug nuts on and it looks a lot cleaner. I'm going to leave it like this for a bit. I'll post up a pic in a day or so.
