Stimulous Payments - 03/23/21 03:35 PM

Has anyone tried using the 'Get My Payment' website from the IRS? It keeps telling me that my SS # is wrong when it isn't.

did you enter your SS# as one number or did you use the hyphens between the fields?

No hyphens when I tried it.

I had to go to USPS and find my "official" address, with the zipcode+4, then they finally found it.

There's a link to the address lookup in the FAQs.

My wife and I both received the 1st stimulus check but neither of us have received the 2nd one. When I do the Get My Payment thing, this is the message I get. I have tried several times in the last couple of weeks.

"Payment Status - Not Available
We are unable to provide the status of your payment right now because:

We don't have enough information yet (we're working on this), or
You're not eligible for a payment.
For more information about why you're receiving this message, see our Frequently Asked Questions.

You can check the application again to see whether there has been an update to your information. Get My Payment data is updated once per day, so there's no need to check back more often."

First one was a check, second one was an ATM card that looked like some garbage loan junk mail envelope at first.

Re: Stimulous Payments - 03/23/21 11:36 PM

We got our taxes done last week, and the lady at the tax office entered that site to see when we were going to get this last "gift" of my money back. She had to reenter my info 4 or 5 times before is finally spit out my info. It is pretty picky, have to spell out e v e r y t h i n g or it doesn't comprehend. Your tax people can reapply for you to get money from the first two if you didn't receive what you were suppose to get.
We have direct deposit, got our money last Wed.

Re: Stimulous Payments - 03/24/21 12:30 AM

Our was supposedly direct deposited last week. Never showed. today it said:

Quote
Payment Status
We scheduled your payment to be mailed on March 26, 2021 to the address we have on file for you.
We will mail you a letter with additional information on this payment.

They should add the $600 to your tax refund this year.
Of course it's the government so....good luck.

I will be paying for three people to get a check. You're welcome...

Re: Stimulous Payments - 03/24/21 02:20 AM

Yep had to send them another $1500 so they can return it in a stimulus payment. What a crock!

Thank you!

Mine showed up (direct deposit) sometime during the night.

I won't likely live long enough to pay much of it back, but my grandkids will ...

There is a line on the tax form 1040 (or other similar forms) to claim any stimulus payments you did not receive. The latest one will probably have to wait til next year.

Tax deadline day has been moved back this year to May 17th.

Good deal. Like normal, I have to send them another fat check again, so never in a hurry to give the bunch of money wasters any more of my money

I suspect the main purpose of not sending legit stimulus payments, for no obvious stated reason is, being the IRS is not allowed withhold the stimulus payments for any IRS back taxes owed, in that if you claim an un payed stimulus payment on your tax return, the delinquent taxpayer might find they are entitled to a refund on their annual taxes because of the stimulus credit, and that "refund" is then legally garnished by the IRS. Meaning the IRS gets their money quicker.
