They talk about a Direct Connection "dealership network", which I hope is a limited to select qualified locations. The Dodge dealers in my area are clueless on new cars, let alone dealing with older cars or anything aftermarket. I drive 90 minutes into Ohio for quality service.

I also hope it's true Mopar branded high quality products and not rebranded ProForm junk like some.of the current Mopar items out there. Looking forward to a dedicated source for aftermarket support.

Read the article closely...they're taking a shot in the dark. They're assuming DC is coming back because of signage on the car...no where has it been specifically stated that DC is coming back.

If it were to come back...expect it to be LX car driven, and Don Schumacher as the lead distributor.

Ha ha ha ha...... Mopar branded high quality products,

Like for example, simple SRT center caps, I didnt want to buy the $20 set made in china off ebay, bought mopar $92 (sticker on center caps "Made in China")

Try as they will not capture the DC of the past, what they sell high end electric batteries?

Haha!

FCA cares exactly zero about heritage Mopar platforms.

are you sure it dose not mean direct current grin
did see this today not 100% confirmed The future of SRT performance vehicles for Dodge and other former FCA brands seems to be rather uncertain
“In February 2021, all of the core elements of the SRT performance engineering team were integrated into Stellantis’ global engineering organization.

This action will have the two-way benefit of ensuring that our brands’ SRT and performance-focused product offerings continue to meet the highest quality standards and expectations, while delivering key learnings from motorsports and other high-performance-technology applications across a wider mix of our company’s product lines.

These products have delighted enthusiasts for nearly two decades, and Stellantis will continue to sell and develop the next generation of Dodge//SRT-branded vehicles, as well as Jeep and Ram vehicles that utilize high-performance SRT technology.”

Rather than trying to support the old stuff again, (they won't), they should open up to the idea of letting more of their older stuff be licensed and reproduced by other companies. How awesome would it be to be able to buy complete repo bodies, and use those vs working with some of the project cars out there that are used up.

Don't want the hassle to make race blocks and heads anymore? Sell the molds and let someone else do it while collecting a small fee from each unit sold would be better than shutting the faucet off.

What Neil says.
Too little, too late, not buying it, when it comes to Mopar-branded parts for racers or restorers.
Cut the stuff loose to manufacturers who actually give a damn and are accountable.
But even at that, it seems the Mopar-authorized stuff carries a stiff licensing fee.

My thought is they will be selling stuff for the new late model vehicles. I really doubt they will support the old stuff.

Suddenly: it's 2005.

(The Department where I worked was Direct Connection 2005 to 2013 under Clark/Hakim).

Among other memorabilia I still have the sign from the third floor of the Centerline office complex grin

(After 2013 it mostly went to my buddy Don, answering the phone at home in his underwear).

Is it going to be "Hight Performance Hybrid Batteries"?

Back when there was "direct connection" i never got any of it threw thew the dealers anyway. And if anyone remembers what was offered "today" was gone tomorrow. Back in the days of the performance PCM's they only had them for a few yeas then it was obsolete. Even if they bring it back it will be for stuff for what's on the dealers lot.

I'm pretty sure I don't want to be directly connected to Renault or Peugeot.

Absolutely. I also have some AMC's which is a deceased orphan by any definition. There were a number of smaller vendors who were re-popping items like emission labels and instrument panel covers for the AMC hobby. The Mopar lawyers descended on them and threatened lawsuits over ANY reproduction that carried the AMC or American Motors logos without a hefty licensing fee. So the vendors stopped producing them.

So who won? Nobody. Neil's suggestion is the best one I've read in a while. Maybe when Mopar goes under the waves for the last time, some of this will loosen up. Who knows. shruggy
