Spotted this '62 Dodge today... - 02/05/21 11:16 PM

Saw this '62 at a dealership as I was passing by. It was covered in road salt residue, but looked clean otherwise. I could only guess if it was being dropped off, or taken off the trailer to put other cars on and transported elsewhere afterwards. I couldn't stop to ask questions about it (like what's under the hood) but will drive by dealership tomorrow to look for it. It has taken many long years, but those '62s are starting to grow on me.

I've always liked the 62 Darts, not so much the Polara pictured (a bit too much trim for me.) I am not sure who in their right mind would ship that car on an open carrier other than a dealer planning on flipping it. twocents beer

Very unique cars, I love ‘em.

My Cyclone came on an open trailer. I thought it would make it between some storms but yep, a bit of road salt and it was the top car over the cab. I guess it got sprayed by other trucks. Although the delivery company was pretty good, I will have to say the driver was about as rough as they come and was from eastern europe. Not friendly at all but he was efficient.

Kinda sad to see it covered in salt like that.
We have the double whammy here. Salt and 2 feet of snow on the ground.

I can never warm up to the '62 Plymouths.

Shipping open carrier is not the best idea for any car of value

These are another of Virgil's designs that have grown so much on me in the last few years. Such unique designs cues all over. I love it.

Appears to be a nice and complete car, too bad it was transported that way.
Hopefully it got thoroughly cleaned ASAP.

Personally always liked the '62s, though never warmed up to the Dodge front ends.
I'd have a '62 Plymouth in a heartbeat, if the planets were to properly align.

Having 5 in my stable, I'm guilty as charged.

Boy, if that is white dried salt spray, with all that trim/chrome body piercings, and likely little factory/aftermarket undercoating/rust protection, that car IM) is set for a miserable future, sadly.

Couldn't agree more, just don't know who is the bigger dummy, the shipper or buyer. Not a big fan of 62 Dodges myself but anyone who cant see the highwater mark the 62's reached needs to have their MoPar card yanked

So sad and irresponsible, just like pushing Grandma off the cliff in her wheelchair...why not at least put the old car on the top of the carrier and put the plastic pos's on the bottom. Rant over. mad

So my kids gave me insight years back on the "murdered" look in style (all blacked out), at first I thought this something new ,"nursed out" ( all in white), until I realized that this was salt road spray covering all the chrome. bawling

Why would you not ship it on an open carrier? They ship 100,000 dollar or more brand new cars every day on them
I ship way more expensive cars on carriers like that every week of my life.
99% of people have no idea or interest in what that car even is
do you think somebody “ flipping” it is less worried about the money he has invested in it than who he bought it from or will sell it to does?

If I bought a collector car that I needed shipped and there was a chance there would be salt on the route I would absolutely go enclosed, and be a damn tight trailer at that. Now if it was a new car that's a different story.

Those $100,000+ new cars have all sorts of factory applied protective appliques on them too. Apples and oranges.

Lots of them have nothing on the haulers at all

Some people don't know any better. It's not a high dollar car so if it was the buyer who dealt with shipping they probably went after the best price. And if it's someone moving inventory around or a flipper what do they care. They'll give it a good bath and move it on.

Mike that car never had a chance of being at that dealer. Lol I'm sure it was only unloaded to pick up one of the trade ins they wholesaled.
