I just find that really hard to believe that FE5 Rallye Red was not a regular production offering for the Superbird. It was one of, if not THE most popular color of 1970-1971. Everything from 6-cylinder Darts and Valiants, to C-body barges.

I've also seen an FK5 Burnt Orange Superbird and I'm told that wasn't a regular production offering either!

It's 1 of 3, but to make it seem more important, they lie to sensationalize it so when it goes up for auction, it brings more money.

When a Rootbeer Brown 1970 LS6 Chevelle comes up for auction, the auction reviews generally knock them down for it being an undesirable color.

Now I like the Rootbeer Brown on a 1970 Road Runner, but I wouldn't pay a dime more for an oddball color on really any car. The only exterior colors I would not look at buying are White and Dark Green.

For all the cars that were painted colors that people really wanted in the mid 1970's, I've never quite understood why there are the chants today to repaint a car Dark Green.

Cool car in Rallye Red. Cooler if it was Sassy Grass which was not out when Superbirds were built, but were around when owners actually had fun.

From the looks of the driver's side quarter panel, it looks like a car with needs. Expensive restoration, especially if they look for NOS parts inside the nose.
