How long is it and how wide is the mounting pad?
I have seen similar winches on boat trailers.

First of all it rotates under 12V power. It changes rpm with varying degrees of amps. It rotates in both directions with the change in polarity. It sounds like it is reduced down and has a lot of torque.
The base is about 5 1/2” square.
