What really happened to Jake from Jakes racing? - 11/19/20 01:59 AM

I recently saw a comment on here about a guy name Jake from back east that use to post on here getting murdered, is this true?
Same comment said he did excellent work and was a good guy, not trying to promote or shame anyone on this.
I would like to know the truth and why, if he was murder, who did it and why help
Thanks in advance: Cab

You talking about Jake from Michigan? Haven’t heard anything about that. Jake did some work for me on my 73 Cuda cassis car years ago when I still lived in Michigan. Yes he is a great guy. Hope what you head is not true.

There was Jake that ran a race car fab shop in the Kansas City area that was murdered a few years ago. He was not a Mopar guy though, he was a Drag Week guy with a 7 Second Malibu.

Yes that was him. Never met him but he was very well liked, he met a guy to sell a Gun and the guy turned around and shot him right in front of his 10 year old Daughter.

And here’s the goon that shot him. 18 years old and they say his brain may not have been fully developed when he committed the crime. one look at his pic will confirm that.

What a shame but selling a gun to a stranger in a parking lot. What could go wrong?

Similar thing happened here in Nashville a couple years ago. I am sure it happens a lot more than people hear about.

Very very sad.

Nothing wrong with selling guns, as long as they are never loaded. Too much emphasis on trigger discipline makes a lot of people overlook the status of the weapon.

I am always amazed that people on CL or Facebook marketplace for sale for $3,$5,$10 ..etc and openly invite strangers to stop by their home to pickup junk .. seems like a a lot of risk, no reward

I never have anyone come to my home when selling on Marketplace. I always tell them to meet at the local gas station or Dollar General. It wouldn't have mattered in this case but I still don't want strangers coming to my house.

Three days ago after a guy e mailing me twice on a CL item I had up for 3 months drive 3 hours to meet me and I drove an hour. A $1500 deal. We met at a business that on a main hwy and I know they have cameras and I parked in that area.

It was flawless.

I also do not like people coming to my home or if they do I have the parts outside at the best point in my driveway for easy pickup and no fuss.

Ive never had an issue and some ive seen they are open carrying, but hey, mines in my pocket.

But most the time I feel if its old car parts related and even further a fellew mopar guy ive little to worry about.

My biggest fear is getting drawn away from my home, shop because someone could do alot if they had a hour lead time where I was away.

In this situation I think it was semi foolish to do a gun deal in the way it was done, if it were me it would have to be at the local PD or have a officer present and all the proper paperwork done or no sale. Im pretty non conformist but when it comes to weapons I got to go by the current laws on the books as it covers me and all others butts.

I do all my deals at the local CHP office up
If they don't agree then the deal is off.
