Do dealers negotiate on high end Challengers?

Do dealers negotiate on high end Challengers? - 08/18/20 03:29 PM

Wife and I are going “fishing” today. Great weather for it! up

First stop is a classic car dealer. Just seeing what they have, as opposed to checking their web site.

Second stop will be a Dodge dealer to checkout Scats and Hellcats.

Age old debate: Vintage or new? We all know the pro’s and cons there.

I have a beautiful 2012 SXT Plus with 17k garaged miles. Six cylinder (obviously).

May trade it, or sell it outright (if I do anything at all).

Kind of hesitate to do the vintage thing again... but anything is possible.

Anyhoots, what’s the latest scoop and high end brand new Moparts. Do they do dealing, or demand “sticker” like they did some years back?

I might just be doing retired (and COVID) dreaming... but the money is there.

Heck yes they deal. Market is flooded with cars that cost a bunch. Rebates on the new ones is still there as well

Doubt it from what I have heard talking to a guy who tried to buy a Charger. Not ever dealer is the same + the economy is not great for a lot of people so you never know.

Tons of used ones around with very low miles so why not buy one of those and save some money? Many people bough them and used them very little thinking they had an investment rather than a fun car, Now that they made so many cars its killed the investment dreams for a lot of people so they have put them back up for sale. Most of the ones I run across have very low miles, original tires, clear plastic still on the carpet, etc.

Used car prices are through the roof right now.

I've watched dealers post used stuff on CL and they lower the price down until it's sold. I watched them drop 2k off a Ram Express to move it.

I just bought a used semi normal mopar and paid maybe a bit too much.

Used is not for me.

So I made a deal on a 6 mile 2017 HCC.

I think I did really really well if the sticker price on the window means anything.

A truck few people want, and many of those who do, don't have enough business or income right now to buy it.

On new Challengers including Hellcats and Redeyes, Koona Dodge in Tysons Corner VA (Just outside Wash DC) has very good deals....inventory is down though ...Factory orders are available at up to 4% under invoice for forum members along with the Power Dollars rebate .... Check out the following link and forum threads regarding market prices ...https://www.hellcatforum.org/threads/225-hellcats-incoming-at-koons-dodge.3808/page-6

My dealer tells me sales are down and profits up. Says they're not dealing like they used to. They'll come off sticker a little, got the impression 5% max. Anyway, he says he making more money on less sales and pretty happy. He's been there a decade I know of. They still call and say they want to buy our vehicles.

For sure sales are down, so the dealers are trying to figure out how to make money. I am sure there is some spoken or unspoken collusion to not deal.

Yes, "through the roof" would mean very high prices... thumbs
