sad to see any old car end up like that.

hope the transport carrier has enough insurance to cover the damage.

Hope the transporter had insurance, OUCH!!! I just can't comprehend why someone would hire and open carrier for a classic car, maybe to save a few $$ realcrazy twocents beer

Edit: Looking at the pic's again there was obviously another truck involved, didn't notice that on the first look spank

Looks like the transport driver went off into the medium between the north and south bound lanes going around a corner and lost control of the truck and trailer, maybe involving the other truck during the wreck shruggy
I hope no one got hurt physically luck

That hurts to look at. Hope no one was hurt. I would think that with the wide availability of Mustang parts that car will be fixed.

What did he tie it down with, swingset chain? It should still be on the trailer. This Cadillac was properly tied down.

that's a misnomer - starting with '70 and the lower numbers built and minor changes creating one year only parts - they can be difficult

That sucks.

I've seen accidents before involving that sort of tow setup. I wouldn't want a car shipped that way.

Considering the truck and trailer both rolled over I don't think heavier chains would have helped.

It looks like the transport rear ended the Chevy and the Mustang broke the straps and rolled over the roof of the transport. Probably held down with straps over the tires and J hooks to the floor. I never did like to see vehicles hauled like that. Just does not look safe and this is a prime example.

Yeah that was my thought too. Driver figured he could make some extra money by driving straight thru but he fell asleep with just a few miles to go and drifted across the freeway and into the median.

That's the arrangement that held Eisenhower's limousine fast when the trailer flipped on it's side, see pic above. FWIW, I haven't been able to discern how it was tied down. In any event, the car shouldn't have come off the trailer. 2ยข
