I'm using the 'ignore' user feature.

Its kinda nice actually.

I'm close to using it as well.

I've never tried it - guess I prefer to face pain head-on

Actually, I would hope to never make an "ignore" list...but I suppose it's inevitable nowadays.

I use it for people that are negative all the time.

One way to turn a negative into a positive is to never see anything the constantly negative types post ever again.

I think I have 3-4 guys on ignore. One for his sale ads every month using Mopars for profit only. The other guys not because I don’t want to read their posts but because I wouldn’t offer any needed advice or when I did get 10% off Summit coupons 6-7 times a year I would rather help others.

I think I have one user on ignore, like John it's a seller who posts only in the for sale section and the same stuff month after month. The ignore feature doesn't stop his photos from appearing just the text.

Not sure what to make of those who chose to stay pusillanimously on the proverbial porch.

I've never used it. Most of the ____ on here leave once they have nothing else to bicker over or someone to bicker with they get bored and move on. Just have to wait it out.

When I first got on this site years ago there were 10+ people who came on here to fight every evening and nothing else. All gone now.

I've been aware of the feature for a long time, just never felt a need to use it.

I actually had a worse problem with someone years ago, Zippy was a mod then. I don't recall the member but it all started over me saying I had problems using poly LCA bushings in my wagon and I could actually get the LCA to move front to back when it was unloaded. This was before everyone had a camera on their hip, so I couldn't take a quick video of it. When he couldn't get a rise out of me on the board, he took it to emails.

Doc is more like that hemorrhoid that keeps flaring up. After a long day at work, you just want to take a load off and put your feet up, but, nope. There's that hemorrhoid flaring up again. Got tired of the flare ups and decided to use some preparation h.

You have to be logged in.

Then click on the about to be ignored user name.

This will appear, just click the 'ignore' button.

It is a true case of 'ignore a person or 3 as you wish is bliss'.

There are only a couple of people on my ignore list - one in this thread Unfortunately, although their posts are blocked, when someone quotes them, the post shows up in the quote. Wish there was some way to just not see their drivel - period.

There are some real dullards on this site. Guys with far more smarts than humor. Doc is funny. There is value in that.
Intelligence is great but sometimes it is nice to be entertained.

It's very easily toggled back on too, in case you need a reminder why you ignored them in the first place, or (no no no no) decide to
waste time attempting to communicate.

Its either what they have done or telling you not to spend your money your way. Weather a certain type cam or using an iron head, hard to get good answers at times when one states there PLAN and others dont embrace that persons vision but rather try to alter it.

Yes, some questions can be easily answered with the search function as they have been asked many times. Those who have answered those same questions before are probably thinking "great, this question again" and just may be not in the mood to go there.

Some questions have no single right answer, but multiple answers that work and that's when the my way is best bickering starts.

I can think back years ago when there where a handful of people on here that came here to argue with others and nothing else. Those people made a lot of other good people bail on this site and their knowledge went with them. Those are the types that should be encouraged to behave better or leave.

It may sound odd, but this is the very reason why I do like your posts (and dare I say have respect for the author?). Not that you're wanting to crack skulls, but because you don't pussyfoot around. A guy I used to work with (and became friends with) was as subtle as a boot to the head, but there was never any doubt where you stood with him, or how he felt about something. It turned a lot of people off, but I loved it and found it kinda funny how he could make millennials squirm (oh, he was 68 at the time)

The problem is, this forum should not IMO be just a version of survival of the fittest, meaning those intimidated by fear or bravado, should not be self censoring because they are adverse to getting slammed for speaking their piece. The problem is the above protection, does not apply IMO when being just arrogant, or outright stupid ( to be blunt), or inciteful. This forum does not work well for EVERYONE's interest if it just becomes an internet cage match. It might be entertaining, and not boring, but I think many here have higher goals, and we all know of other sites that have devolved to meet those needs, and so be it. Those that can't face the claim here of maybe being arrogant, stupid, or inciteful, etc, should utilize the ignore button as they see fit. They know best what criticism/scrutiny their ego will allow.

Cat killers (ANY animal abusers) deserve a special place in hell. Hopefully legal action has been taken. Maybe he'll get covid and die a slow death.
