A different type of Carlisle thread, one I intend to milk... - 06/05/20 09:20 PM

The thunderstorms over the last few days washed out a milk bottle from Stambaugh's Dairies in Carlisle, PA.

I have found a few embossed bottles here so far, but this is the first one from Carlisle. smile

Great find. That comes form the days when milkmen delivered fresh into the milk box by the side door. Insulated box had two doors one from the outside and one on the inside and even kept ice cream cold. Our milkman brought milk. ice cream. butter and eggs fresh twice a week.

This is rather enlightening, just think how elated those 50 years in the future will be, when they find all our unburied treasures in our landfills when they become seashore property. work

Are with the group that believes the earth is 6,000 years old?

If so, I then understand the basis for your disappointment.

Wow....it sure cleaned up nice! Was it in a creek, or just some place people may have buried trash on their property?

Low spot in the woods on my property.

I found my first open pontil bottle nearby too, it dates to the 1830s.
