If you can conservatively pick the bottom there is some opportunity when (if?) it rebounds.

No interest in anything related to "cruise ship".

In fact, I always check out the news stories that begin with "Cruise Ship" or "Man From Florida" since I know they will always be disturbing, be entertaining and/or verify the wisdom of my resolve to avoid either place. runaway.

Why it isn't suspended completely, is beyond me, except those in charge are afraid of getting a "panic" label..

No cruise related stock for me. I prefer something that is more necessary in life. I stay with local utilities and credit card companies. Will add more Amazon and Apple after their next earnings. Might add some this week if the market crashes. It is looking that way tonight. Futures are down HUGE!

Then again you could fly in a plane and breath recycled air for five hours.

I agree, but reports are it is "filtered" ( whatever that means?), "turned over" every 3 minutes, and it is rather "dry" ( not a great petri dish environment), which is certainly better then breathing moist ocean air at 20?knots on your open balcony downwind of 1,000 other open occupied balcony/cabins.

My wife has been trying to get me on a cruise for the last 25 years and I told her I will see her after she comes back. The other day, I told her "See that's what happens".

Mine too. She's been carrying on for years as if she's neglected and abused because I won't go on a cruise. The past month or so has been nicely quiet on that front.

The wife and I each hold 100 shares of CCL in our IRA's.

We get $100 to $250 of on-board credit with each cruise, depending on the length of the cruise. Since we have cruised about 20 times on Princess, that has resulted in discounts equal to almost what we paid for the stock if it were to go to 0 and never recover. I don't think that will happen.

I find that cruising is a great way to see the world without personally dealing with the logistics. We have been to 35 countries and seen and done so many wonderful things.
We went jet skiing and swimming with sharks in the South Pacific. We have touched a glacier. We have seen the Mona Lisa, David, the Eiffel tower, the Leaning Tower of Pisa and so many other things.

All I have to do is pack and step onto my front porch. Everything is handled by someone who has done it a thousand time. If something goes awry, they have a backup plan and I don't have to figure out what to do. Example, one trip we were supposed to stop in Canada on our way to Europe. There was a big storm around New England so we diverted and stopped in the Azores instead. We hit the Canadian stop on another cruise. Nothing lost.

So many people badmouth the concept of cruising but I wouldn't have seen a fraction of the number of things I have seen if it were not available.

I may go on one cruise before it is over but it is not really my thing. Not high on my bucket list.

I married my last cruise cabin mate.

It turned out to my Titanic cruise, in that I didn't see it coming.

Eh, I personally have no desire to see the world, really no desire to travel at all. I have everything I need in my own little world. To each their own.

Don't have any now, but looking at them as well as some airlines. Might wait another week or two and see if they drop further and pick them up for a discount.

American's collective memory sucks, so by next summer everyone will be back at it and things will be more normalized. A $500 buy in the near future could be worth $2 grand next summer.
