.
Fun show. I drive 3.5 hours to it and it’s worth it for a nice winter break. 5-6 is a long drive though but still may be a nice getaway.

I'm going a lot farther and wouldn't miss it. As stated, a great winter break. Also, it may not be the biggest swap, but to the gang from here, its the best.

A bunch of Canucks take a bus trip down each year - 8 hours each way. But it ain't so bad when you can chat, watch movies, sleep, have a beer, etc.. And a highway bus holds a lot of parts !!!

I love the Canuckabus folks, they spend good money! I was wondering if the bus has a trailer hitch so you can bring back more sheetmetal?!? laugh2

been thinking of going myself this year, about 3 hours away. I remember from the last time I was in Indianapolis… nobody knows directions. I went down there once because a buddy was in dire need of a torque converter for a Cummins, and didn't want to wait for it to be transferred to the company's location closer to us. I went 3-4 different places around Indy, asking how to find this place, the last was a truck stop west of town, headed back toward Illinois on I-74. never seen this place but once I got to that point I "knew" I was too far. so I pulled off the road to ask where this road I was looking for was, nobody there had a clue. It was the 3rd of 4 places I stopped and asked for help in finding what I was looking for.

I have never been to the place where this swap is, and have no idea where it might be down there.

it's at the state fairgrounds on 38th street. there aren't any direct interstate exits near it but it isn't difficult to find. I live less than an hour from the fairgrounds but haven't been to the show in a couple of years. there's no way i'd drive 5-6 hours to this show unless there was something specific I wanted. all the used stuff is literally over priced junk and new prices aren't much better. it's $8 to drive into the fairgrounds and I think $15 to get in the show.

The fiancé and I went for the first time last year. I don't know how far se Ohio you are but, we drove from right outside of Columbus; the drive was not bad at all.

We're going again this year.

The show is pretty good, maybe not the best but, I feel all shows have gotten somewhat smaller.

hey Magnumguy, remember you from the Old Hippie's site, wow that one went to $#!t.... Its Mar 7&8th, I don't have a flyer though. got a buddy of mine that lives around 40 minutes west of Indy.... he told me all about it, told me that he went Sunday last year, got tehre late morning and the place was about deserted.... the few vendors left at that point were busy packing up already, my buddy says many set up Saturday only.... he told me if I come down, to be sure to make it be on Saturday for best selection though it is the "busy day"....

always looking for what I can find for my 78 Sport Fury, looking to get going again on my long dormant Volare this year.... and recently got an 85 Truck that I'm needing stuff for...…

Patrick and I are going Don. If I get Friday off I'll be leaving from home Saturday morning. If I work Friday night I'll go straight to Patrick's when I get off at 2 am.

It's our 3rd best show behind Carlisle and The Nationals. Well worth going if nothing else than to break up the winter.

Re: MoPar Swapmeet @ Indy - 02/28/20 06:15 PM

The trip is 500 plus miles for us one way, but is well worth the expense. The show is advertised as a two day event, but be aware that the prime hours are from the opening of the doors on Saturday until around 1:30 that afternoon. By 3:00 PM, the smaller vendors are already packing things up and moving stuff to the side doors so that they can be leaving as soon as they get loaded up. You will see some used parts vendors at this venue that you will not see at Carlisle or the Columbus.

Just found out Mancini won’t be there this year.
I was hoping to place an order with them and pick it up there.

Re: MoPar Swapmeet @ Indy - 02/28/20 11:51 PM

Mancini has not brought product to sell the last couple of years, but they send reps so you can order. I can't believe they wouldn't bring product already paid for if you call them. The best thing to do is come in with a vendor and help them set up on Friday, that is where all the deals are made, poke poke. wink wink... whistling

Deanna with Indy Cylinder Heads sent me the list of the registered commercial vendors that have registered for the show. This list does not include the guys who have registered as regular swap meet participants. It is a good show and hopefully some of guys can make it out to the event.

Yes, Detroit Muscle was in the front area. They were one aisle from Stephen's Performance against the wall.
