If you give them a good home, which I'm sure you did, then feel proud you did your part.

RIP Kitty. I'm a dog person but it always sucks when they go.
My dog is 11 and it makes me feel sad every time I think about how young and little she was when I got her and now she's old.

It does hurt. We lost our cat back it the Fall. I was never was a cat fan until we gave this one a home because someone dropped her when she was a tiny kitten. At one time I didn’t get it about a cat but I do understand what you’re feeling and it stinks.

Re: RIP Monte... - 01/31/20 01:27 PM

It is tough when you lose one.

At least you where able to provide each other comfort and enjoyment for almost twenty years.

After having just one cat at a time, when we lost an eighteen year old cat we got two, brother and sister. We have enjoyed two and they really have not been much more work than one. My son and daughter have had as many as four and I think two is ideal.

Re: RIP Monte... - 01/31/20 08:37 PM

Very Sorry for your loss, They make our lives so much better but never stay around long enough. Someone once told me that the reason they don't live as long as we do is so that we can adopt one or more of the others that need the love we can give them!

Re: RIP Monte... - 01/31/20 11:03 PM

Awwww, what a cutie Monte was. They give us so much peace and pleasure, but sure can break our hearts. It's worth it though. I had "Lucy" from age 5 to age 20. A sweet Miniature Schnauzer. She never hurt a soul, and just wanted to be loved. Haven't had a pet since. If I can live to retire I'll have another.

Sorry for your loss Jim. We lost The Beagle 2 years ago. We acquired her when she was 8 and she was with us 5 years. She was bit of a tub when we got her, a pig in a beagle suit.

The current Lord of the Manor is a Maine Coon Ragdoll cross. He tolerates us. Lol.

In the last 40 years I have had two cats, didn't think I wanted another when Roxanne died after 20-1/2 years but the wife's cousin had a litter and Monte jumped out from under the shed right to me, her cousin said that he had not seen this one before then, so it was meant to happen! The day I was born I had a cat, he wouldn't let strangers near my crib! I go pick Monte up today after cremation then I will mull getting another in due time...

Rhino, I'm so sad for you guys - we love our little kitts - Kimba & Lucy. They are such sweethearts. It is SO sad when they leave us - I think it's getting tougher as I'm getting older. I am SO attached to our little Lucy. Anyway, my heart goes out to you.
